Got a quick question. Recently i was asked by some guilds on Ravencrest Alliance Realm if we can make our own realm wide Mythic Plus Tournament, similar to MDI in style. We really thought about all details, however there is one problem we can’t solve. We can’t make people have the same keys for the tournament, unless we make it Single elimination, best of 1 and force every team to grind the 5 keys required at the certain level, which won’t realistically happen by default.
I was wondering if there is any way we can get help from Blizz, something like sending a list of the teams, date of the tournament and all details and get access to the tournament realm for it. If the event is a success we even intend to have it happen on a monthly basis.
A tl;dr what we thought of :
Have 1 member in each team stream the whole run so we watch that they respect rules and also cast what is going on. ( since we don’t have a spectator mode for M+ in wow )
Prize pool will be 1-2 M gold, and prizes will be 50% first spot, 30% 2nd and 20% 3rd. We either ask for a 50k gold entrance fee for each team, or simply pay it from our own gold.
Single elimination for our first tournament, with best of 3 and finals will be best of 5.
We believe that events like this will improve the community on our realm, maybe even show an example to other realms, and also promote PVE style tournaments.

Before I say anything about the idea itself, Bless the heart of anyone who keeps communities alive and brings content to the game.
However I see no chance that Blizzard would do such a thing, because it would create a precedent. If the Ravencrest realm gets its own tournament, I’m sure every realm would jump to the train and demand one as well.
Also at the moment Blizzard is preoccupied with the actual MDI, so that is another negative point.
I thought of that as well, however i took example from League of Legends where they actually offer help with prize or even tournament realm to small local tournaments, or server wide tournaments. Just by application. Blizzard is now more focused on turning PvE into an Esport so it would make sense they may consider to allow us organize our own Gold tournaments, just like PvP players can. We obviously don’t need help with prizes, but the game limits us on M+ to the point we can’t organize anything.
They want to turn PvE into an Esport to attract more attention to the game, so they gather the best of the best, because only that could be interesting to outsiders. Just because you can gather 20 teams people won’t start watching your runs even if it is on Blizzard’s channel. And if no people are watching the runs it is the loss of Blizzard’s time and efford.
That’s true, but we don’t make it for the big views. We mostly make it to tighten our community. Alliance PVE scene suffers greatly due to the constant migration to Horde, so we want to promote ourselves here a bit more to survive and make it enjoyable.
