Question about Troll/DK RP, and the state of Horde RP

Greetings!

I’ve been on AD since mid-Legion, mostly RP’ing on Alliance on and off. I took a long break from WoW during Shadowlands, and I have barely touched the game unless I’m farming stuff from old raids and occasionally doing battlegrounds.

I’ve been thinking about it for a while, and I want to get back into RP. I miss feeling like I’m a part of a community, and I especially miss progressing a character and writing/participating in stories. Thing is, it’s been so long since I’ve roleplayed that I feel like I’m lagging behind in terms of writing, lore, and progressing a character. I want to try something new, and I’ve never really roleplayed on Horde, let a lone a Troll. I’ve always found them to be a really cool race, but I have never RP’ed as one. Ever. So, I figured I’d give it a shot.

So here’s the question; How do I RP as a Troll DK? Where do I start? Is there any lore videoes/articles I can read up?
And how is the state of Horde RP on Argent Dawn as of today? I remember it being very guild-oriented, so are there any guilds on here that accept Troll DK’s that I can check out? And who don’t mind people who might take some time to re-learn a bunch of stuff? Because I’ve forgotten so much.

Thanks in advance! :black_heart:

Vielbound Vigil or something they are called, Horde/Alliance DK guild, mostly Horde if Im correct, you shouldnt struggle to find them, its the only DK guild I know that has a Horde group within it

As a troll DK, you’ll be playing a DK more than you’ll be playing a troll - I suggest starting out as an alive character if you wish to be properly introduced into the rp vibes of your chosen race! Can always just die later =)

Otherwise, Veilbound Vigil is the only Horde-accepting DK guild that comes to mind!

That’s something I didn’t take into consideration  But thanks, I’ll start out with an alive Troll!

I think you can still make a death knight/undead troll remain quintessentially ‘trollish’, personally, and don’t think you’d need to play a living one to get that experience.

Perhaps, after being freed from the control of the original Lich King, they became an adherent of Bwonsamdi – the Loa of Graves, an important deity to both the Zandalari and the Darkspear.

Even a troll death knight is still informed by their cultural background, after all.

That being said, perhaps what’s meant is that there’s not a great variety of troll guilds that cater to death knights, I’m not sure.

Hey there!

The Veilbound Vigil recruits Death Knights of all playable races, but our focus is very much on Death Knight RP more than anything else.

Have a look!

That would work if Bwonsamdi didn’t despise the undead.
You can easily be still a DK and remain a troll, there is much you could bring into play. Perhaps your troll was a Gurubashi and found solace in the discipline of blood. Perhaps your character adhered to Bwonsamdi in life and is now having a internal conflict of being unheard by the loa. You’ll find the DK experience probably overshadowing your race and culture in RP, which is kind of the point of DKs in general, if you want the troll experience I’d recommend joining Primal Pact who are more focused on the tribal trolls.

Playing a Troll/ Zandalari DK is for sure something the Loa would despite but specially this is the fun about. We do things other Trolls would not even dare.
It depends also on your character, mine lost his faith in the Loa, but he knows they exist and knows they would not come for his aid.
He does not care for the dead Loa, and if he would stand infront of one, he shows his respect, kinda because he knows how strong they can be. But he would no longer serve them ^^
He does not care for Bwonsamdi, still, he does not dare to go to close to Bwonsamdi’s temple.

The Veilbound Vigil is always open for some Troll DKs
