Does the World PvP players scale with you or you have a change to meet a player with ilvl 250+ while you still are ilvl 100+ and get destroyed in seconds? Is it balanced in any way or does it just throws you in with the big boys?
This.
10 chars.
There is no balance in WPvP and you can get killed in seconds by people who outgear you, play a high burst spec or outnumber you.
It’s a chaotic environment, it is not meant to be 100% balanced nor it should be.
That being said, I am an advocate of the idea that PvE gear should be as good as PvP gear in Warmode.
Warmode should be expanded upon with events, quests and achievements. It the perfect sandbox for players to create their own stories.
Let’s put some roleplaying back into WoW.
Warmode is a way to take away from world pvp. Players can join servers and then turn off the pvp element in the server so they never have to encounter it. It hurts world pvp the same as how sharding and layering does.
The original way was best. PvP servers, no layering, and if its difficult then you have to overcome that difficulty somehow. Getting ganked? Get some help or move away from it. You joined a PvP server knowing full well its dangerous. Nowadays its way too much protection and making sure everyones ok.
I do not agree with PvP servers. A person could enter a PvP server because his two other friends who play WoW were there and not because he wanted to delve in that “dangerous environment”.
The biggest problem of Warmode is that it is held back by a crybaby self entitled PvP community. If it is expanded upon the majority of the players will opt in turning Warmode on.
I do not agree with PVE servers. A person could enter a PvE server because his two other friends who play WoW were there and not because he wanted to delve in that “boring environement”.
World of WARcraft.
There is no such a thing as a PvE server. Therefore your reply does not make sense.
There is no such thing as a PvP server. Therefore your reply does not make sense either.
I miss the old PvP servers. Had lots fun fighting enemy faction players, they would get friends to help or I would and eventually a 1v1 gank could escalate into a raid fight in some quest hub.
You also had the permanent feeling of danger, trying to avoid roads and other places frequented by the enemy because you would get ganked. Current Warmode just does not have this atmosphere.
Pity people rolled on PvP realms and then cried about getting ganked as if it was someone elses fault than theirs that they decided to roll on a PvP realm.
Yeah, I liked the neutral “gank everyone” faction they did with Ordos in MoP and Talon Vengeance in Legion. Hope they implement something like that in DF.
SL only has those dailies, but tbh unless it is the Bastion or Maldraxxus one that takes ages otherwise, I do not PvP in those much and neither do others it would seem.
Enough with this nonsensical argument already Cubitus. PvP servers HAD many pros :
- Some players like the thrill and risk of random player vs. player combat, and would consider PvE servers to have a difficulty that is too low.
- The danger of PvP inserts more realism into gameplay, since preventing other players from attacking you represents more a pure game mechanic than any plausible scenario.
- Opportunities for world PvP are much more prevalent.
CONS :
- Such disruptive practices like corpse camping, griefing, ganking can be exceedingly prevalent on PvP realms, many high level players may repeatedly and incessantly engage in these behaviors for no obvious reason other than that they can.
I argued PvP servers should never come back. I never said they exist now.
Sorry, your elementary level replies have failed.
Yeah, i didnt understand sh*t about what you said, sorry.
You were too smart for me…
As for your 1st argument, I tried to make you understand why it was biased by using the same argument over a PvE server, thats all.
By the way, PvE realms never existed ? Are you sure about that ? I’m pretty sure they did. It’s not because you can PvP over a PvE realm that they don’t exist as a PvE realms, right ?
Hmmm, I am having the exact experience you describe using Warmode.
I am not sure why you cannot replicate the same experience in Warmode yourself.
You can toggle it on and off. You can’t in a PvP realm.
Walking in a contested area toggle it on automaticaly.
There was never any bias in my argument. Allow me to elaborate, PvE realms do not exist now. And I don’t want them to come back either.
I have been playing since Cata, I know servers used to be split between PvE and PvP and to me Warmode is an improvement over the old system.
I using Warmode almost all the time, without it I would have to pay for a realm transfer.
It is an improvement no matter how I see it. If I want to just relax by doing some World Quests with no interruptions, I could always turn it off. Want to immerse myself completely? I turn it on. Why is that a bad thing?
Glad you admitted your replies were not making any sense though.
I don’t know why we’re even arguing if you’re running around with WM on lol.
I don’t know, I was probably missing the point. People don’t always have to double down on their mistakes.
We are arguing because I chose a PvE server back in my Cata days. Why? Because the friends who introduced me into WoW played on that server.
Without Warmode I would never experience wPvP. And I do not understand why some PvPers are hating on Warmode when it offers the same experience a PvP realm offered back in the day.
The biggest problem Warmode has is that it is not expanded upon. BFA did wonders on that sector. I hope the devs remember Warmode is a thing in DF, it has so much potential.
Were we ? Ain’t nothing wrong with that, though.
Thats pretty true. I remember N’zoth invasions in Uldum and Pandaria, which were both really cool.
