With the potential changes to names and the abilities not set in stone yet afaik Iâll just wait and see what the hero talents will actually look like by the time TWW gets very close.
But Iâll be honest, if it seems the most fun out of the three and it doesnât make my character look wrong somehow Iâll pick it 
Well no, I will be choosing sentinel. Dark Ranger is for belf for me.
Thaâs the point of the post. To change the name

Also, you will turn yourself in to undead but you belong to a race which lorewise is so connected to Life that it cant be raised into Undeath. Both Nelfs and Worken

I know more hero talent names create the same issue for other classes, they are quite race specific. With only three talents you can obviously not cover the entire spectrum.
I guess it depends on whether theyâll develop this further. If we get three new hero talents per expansion, and they keep expanding on race flavour that way, in the long run it may be pretty cool. I do get their choice for iconic names, itâs instant recognition and atmosphere.
If this is the case, Iâm guessing theyâll run into similar issues as with the artifacts tho. Not every spec or even class had an iconic weapon. In some cases it was rather forced. In that sense more âneutralâ names might work better, and create less friction with races left out (for nowâŚ?)
What would you like as names for the hunter hero talents? I havenât thought on this so I have no input myself, simply curious

Well that isnât true, is it? Points at Nelf dark rangers in BfA that are now standing in the Emerald Dream
The hero talents seems spell oriented right now.
Means, it doesnt matter which you pick for your charakter. What matters more is the gameplay it will provide, because at the end its just a name for the talents.

We have Night Elves who were raised as Dark Rangers at Dark Shore and even before that, we have Night Elf DKs since WotLK.
Dark Ranger isnât a bad name and a hunter character doesnât become an undead for picking that spec, just like a warrior wonât become a dwarf for picking Mountain Thane spec.
Belfs are the dark rangers though?
And I will choose dark ranger for sure (on my belf)

Sentinel must remain. It is iconic.
As Saiyanpride said. A belf who donât play Nelfs nor hunters, and he said it accidently I would not have anything against Shadow Hunter insted of Dark ranger. It is not insulting to any race even, though, it is a Troll thing. So we have Sentinel, Shadow Hunter and something else. It will probably be connected with BM. So if Dark Ranger stay, Me as a Bm hunter once and forever will be forced to have only one thing and that would be now called packmaster

Rest something neutral for all races but not stupid
They should rename it imo to âShadowscoutâ or âUmbralshadesâ so Troll Player Shadow Hunter can also identify with the hero spec. Else there is nothing for them except pack leader. Sentinel also needs to be renamed to something else that is more neutral. Doesnât feel great to be a sentinel as a warsong orc specialised in marksmanship

No, because âsentinelâ is very unfun for players, who donât play night elves. Scout is better, because everyone can be called âscoutâ. Similar story with warriors and âmountain thaneâ. Thatâs too specific.
And here is the name.
Shadow Hunter. Something that can be accepted but not insulting to anyone
So we have troll name and Night Elf name. Both with a deep lore behind them. Definetly deeper then dark ranger.
Now we have two. We need one more

Both need to change, and as a night elf you can use the dark ranger skin and then it fits⌠Elves kinda occupy and reserve 2 hunter hero specs and most of the druid hero specs too. Seems a bit unfair to me. They even occupy Warden. Another hero spec. What about trolls? Did blizz forget that they exist? Or⌠Orcs? Some are present multiple times, while others not at all. Seems to be very bad and biased naming. Wonder what the people, who made these names, play. Itâs also bad that a hero spec fits a specific spec, because that would force people, who wanna play a certain class fantasy, into a certain gameplay, i.e. shadowlands
Iâll go with whatever fits the RP vibe best.
TBH I have a serious hunter alt addiction so I already have a regular nelf and belf hunter and a dark ranger version of each too!
no because itâs abomination and brings back the worse times in to players mind. At least those who play Night Elfs.
I would for example never use dark ranger skin nor red eyes. I didnât even bothered with sl quest to get that câŚp. And neither did my fiancee nor anyone I know, and some donât even like Nelfs but Draenei or Worgen or Gnomes. One thing incommon with them is, that they ALL hate humans as much as Belfs

I have 7 hunters on 7 realms. None did that quest And all are Nelfs. This is the first one I made when I changed zones from U.S. to EU that I made, I donât play it anymore but he is my dearest hunter.
And I have hunter main addiction problem
Got it the moment they was available to play after launch. I think it was a month later. And I made it because realized that Bm is complete counter to rogues and one damn 6 lvls higher rogue ganked my a⌠off on my first character, the druid. Found him after I lvled my hunter. I was lvl 40 and with Bm hunter I was able to catch his slow lvling.
His name was Katatafish. Then it was my turn to gank
