[Question] Weird "View Distance" Visual

So, a few days ago I started noticing a very weird visual feature in the Shadowlands zones. For some reason, elements that are far away get “blocky” and the elements on screen almost look as if the resolution scale would be down to 33% despite being at 100%.

The clips below shows this ‘issue’ in Bastion, but I first saw it in Halls of Atonement on the platform you fight Lord Chamberlain. The fence around the platform was of the lowest graphical setting, including the Revendreth surroundings; the towers, Castle Nathria etc …

The platform itself, the characters and everything on it was at 100% resolution scale, the rest was as if I had pulled the slider down to 33%, meaning the lowest setting.

Additionally, this issue is not present in other zones; I’ve visited Outland, Northrend, Pandaria, Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, Kul Tiras, Zandalar, the Broken Isles etc.

I’ve reinstalled drivers, I’ve played around with the settings (despite having not changed any of them prior to the problem appearing); can anyone tell what this is?

I had a similar issue in Ardenweald, for me it seemed to be the new “Compute Effects” graphical setting so you might want to try messing around with that.

I will give that a try, thank you!

Hey Sahaan,

What Claritycraft, mentioned above is correct, check the Compute Effect settings, along with the Particle Density settings.

If you have an AMD Radeon graphics card, a similar effect can occur from having the Radeon Boost option enabled along with a very low dynamic resolution.
