I’m having issues healing as RDruid since the purge because of the random buff/HoTs positions on the frames. I know they recently added some priority to certain buffs so they always appear first, which is nice, but still we are not able to have each HoT on a specific position.
Have the devs said anything regarding such functionality being added back at some point or no?
For context, I’ve been maining RDruid for years and I was very comfortable with my UI. I was prepared for the purge and I knew I would have to struggle a bit and make adjustments. I’ve adjusted some things, started using new addons etc.
But the main problem remains. Having HoTs not show up at specific locations means that my brain is trying to identify HoTs based only on the icon (“is this green icon Lifebloom or is it Regrowth”). Having HoTs show up at specific locations means that my brain can also rely on position to identify HoTs. If Rejuv always shows up at the top right corner, I don’t have to just rely on the color or the texture of the icon to know whether Rejuv is there, nor do I have to look at 5 HoTs and figure out if Rejuv is one of them. If there are any pixels at that spot, I know its Rejuv.
Such a thing might not be important for new players or other healing specs but omg its important for RDruid. Since the purge I’ve been wasting so many GCDs because I’ll put HoT’s on ppl that already had that HoT. There is so much confusion and the cognitive load has increased. On top of that, after playing the prepatch for a while to test things and get comfortable, I’ve noticed that I can only really track and worry about 3 HoTs, Rejuv, Lifebloom and Germination. In the middle of an M+ key or a BG or Arena, I’m no longer able to mentally track and manage more that these 3 HoTs. I used to be able to have an awareness for who has the Regrowth HoT on them, as an example, but I can no longer do that or adjust to that because just tracking 2 Rejuvs and 1 Lifebloom on 3 or more players is too mentally taxing because, as I mentioned above, I cant rely on specific positions for HoTs. I have to constantly be determining which HoT is which on 3+ players with 3+ HoTs on them. It’s exhausting.
Please Blizzard let us specify positions for each HoT, it will help a lot.
