It’s the end of the expansion and I still don’t know how crafting system works. Considering this ‘new’ profession system will also be implemented on new expansion, it’s here to stay.
So my first question is, I can craft dream crafted gears up to item level 486. How many of them I can equip at the same time ? The info I found about this is I can only equip 2 embellished gears, but what about non embellished gears ? Can I craft all my gear slots without embellishment and equip them ?
My second question is, some crafts need skill levels to be crafted in max level quality. With my profession and all skills maxed, and using best quality gear I can’t secure some of the crafts in max quality. Weapon enchantments can be an example for this, I have profession equipments to raise my skill, using illustrious insight but still can’t reach guarantee 3 stars on weapon enchants. What else am I supposed to do ? Just to be more lucky ?
You can wear as many non embellished as you like, you can also remove embellishments from items.
The food embellishment doesn’t count towards the limit but can’t go on an item that is already embellished.
If you have maxed knowledge for the item you want to craft you have a better chance of success. You can also help your chances with the best crafting gear. Some crafting gear can be enchanted and some can have a scroll with stats applied when it’s being made to give you higher preferred stat. I usually add things to get higher inspiration.
Isn’t that kills the purpose of farming a certain boss to get the certain piece of gear ? If I can get the sparks I can craft highest level of gear ? Or maybe that is the plan of implementing this.
That is my question right there. I have maxed my knowledge, using best quality crafting items, illustrious insight and profession items equipped but still can’t secure a level 3 craft on weapon enchants.
You get half a spark every week, it would take months to gear up through professions alone (Professions are intended to basically fill a few slots, not fully gear a character), and you would miss out on tier set bonuses, which can contribute a lot to how well a class plays/performs.
Weapon enchants are tricky, i have an enchanter with close to full profession knowledge (Working on the final bit, but that has nothing to do with crafting enchantments, it’s something about shattering awakened elements for bonuses), and 3-star weapon enchants are still reliant on Inspiration procs, so it’s not just you.
Not everything can be guaranteed, weapon enchants in particular are a nightmare. I wish my sophic devotion would respect that I’m using insight.
As Kotara explained you’re not likely to get enough sparks and the crests required to max everything. The highest you can craft gear to this season is 486, the stuff from the vault goes up to 489 if it’s on Mythic track.
Your class discord or wowhead etc will probably be able to tell you your bis embellishments. I usually aim to do those first. I have currently only got one to max, most of my crests are consumed upgrading mythic track gear first. It takes 60 Aspects to make an Enchanted Crest (plus some other mats). I also have different pants for M+ and they are just sitting at 476 for now.
Oh, that’s sneaky, and if i may say so, explained rather poorly as well in-game, to guarantee rank 3 i have to get maximized knowledge point tree, and the buff from shattering the appropriate element (Which adds an “invisible” cost, BTW)
Thanks for the link though, now i know how to get guaranteed 3-star enchants.
You can only have 2 embelishment gears. Alchemical Flavor Pocket doesn’t count as embelishment(Food buff doesn’t go away when you die). You can change/erase embellishments with griftah’s all-purpose embellishing powder but gear must be crafted with special armor patch.
There is a known trick about professions. It’s called as Hidden skill bonus. If you reach less than %5 of total skill requirement of a pattern, you can craft more rank 3 items. For example rank 3 Fierce Armor Kit requires 375 skill point. %5 of it is 18.75. 375 -18.75 =356.25 . So if you get more points than 356.25, you can craft more rank 3 items. Racial bonuses are the 2nd trick. Some races are providing extra skill points to certain professions.
Weapon enchants require 425 skill point, sophics were with belf racial 407 skill point is possible. Elemental shatter were providing extra skill points so, you should also check guides for more info. Craftsim addon is capable of showing skill points, trees you need for each pattern. It only shows shadowed belt clasp wrong, it doesn’t benefit from stonework but rest of the stuff was correct. Sometimes multicraft is better, sometimes inpire or resourcefulness. Tools and enchants are important as well. This Craftsim addon is also able to calculate which one is better by getting Auction House Prices from TSM application. So some guide + Craftsim addon can solve your problems
Also I have to add, you may not profit from crafting enchants/leathers etc. because materials were cheaper before new patch. People bought lots of materials for %10-50 of current auction prices . Another problem is addons like TSM got repost/cancel ability and people are reposting every second so you have to do the same by getting TSM otherwise you can’t sell most of the crafted items. Prices starts moving down and you lose gold also waste your time. So don’t craft tons of items, selling them will be boring, craft less, sell and repeat.
