I have the following 2 questions about reporting players:
Is it possible to report players for disrupting behaviour/ grieffing in Mythic+? I’m not talking about players leaving, but behaviour like DPS intentionally pulling mobs, or players pulling a boss with trash up with the intent of wiping the group? When I right-click a players name and report, I get the following options:
Inappropriate Name → Does not apply
Inappropriate Communication:
Text-Chat → ?
Spam → Does not apply
Advertisement → Does not apply
Boosting/Deranking → ?
Which of the options applies here?
Can you report toxic whispers (aggressive behaviour, insults, people telling you to uninstall the game, etc), or does Blizzard only take action when the communication is public and reported by multiple people?

Theoretically:
Blizzard clarifies, that the only reportable M+ behavior is breaking key on purpose with stating this purpose in the chat. Because without any chat message there is no technical way to actually report someone. This is stated here: https://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/117469 . Unfortunately, they don’t specify under which category do that.
Reality:
The reporting system seems to be fully automatic and rarely reviewed by human beings, so anyone can report anyone for any reason they want. If threshold of report amount is reached - boom, automatic system applies punishment. So feel free to report people for breaking the key. But again, it’s only possible when there is some chat message from the person, because otherwise there is nowhere to right click and “report” after person left. I personally do it under category “Deranking”.
Yes, you can. As stated above, reporting system is automatic and it doesn’t care if it’s public chat or whisper. And in rare chance of human review they will have private messages as well as all the logs. “by multiple people” is not necessary in 1 moment. For example, you report toxic person today. And the next day that person is toxic again to somebody else and will get second report. Enough reports gathered to trigger automatic system - and the person gets his sanctions.
DPS players do this all the time either by mistake or on purpose. Its not a reportable thing and if your tank and dps are awake they can usually handle it.
Pulling trash into a boss can be standard pulls or have beneficial effects. For instance the 2 mobs in uldaman before the 2nd boss have a debuff when they are low health which makes the boss take more damage if they are alive. Not really a reportable thing either.
They were voicing their disagreement with things I was asking (it was my key) and how the key was ran before. According to Raider . io 2K alt of 3K main, was probably trying to raise his rating and felt superior.
Theoretically yes, but this is hard to prove since you have to prove INTENT and this is hard. Unless the guys has said in whisper or party chat that he is trying to brick the key or want to ruin it, it is a long shot.
Also keep in mind that even if it is against ToS, there are many instances of player getting away with it, so it wouldn’t surprise me.
You can, but as in other games this is a grey area. Trash talking to a certain degree is allowed AFAIK, but excessive use or more serious offenses (racial discrimination, sexual, threats against life, and so on) are taken more seriously.
Meaning that if someone tells you to uninstall and play Tetris I do not think it will be bannable. On the other hand if he tells you that he will find you IRL and k**l you or people you love, then you got a serious case of imminent disciplinary action.
This is not bannable by a long shot.
Believing that your opinion is correct and acting in order to make the key go faster (even if that being not the case and failing in the end) is not against ToS. No way to prove intent in that scenario, and probably it was not even a factor.
What I get from this is: He thought you’d be able to handle a standard pull and you couldn’t and wiped as a result. Pulling packs into bosses is pretty standard.
Let me clarify: Underrot M+, my key, I was healer. Before the key started, I asked the tank not to pull the maggot at the right at the start. He asked why and I explained to him that a) the mob has a pretty bad frontal ability and b) the mobs in the next pack have a root, which can make it impossible to move from the frontal. The mage was annoyed with this, and started complaining to start the dungeon. The tank agrees, we start the dungeon, the tank does indeed skip the maggot, but the mage felt superior and pulled the maggot anyway. Next thing that happens, you can guess it already, I get rooted, and yes, you can see this coming from a mile away, I get one-shot by the frontal of the maggot… I obviously complain about this and said I predicted this. We move on, kill 1st boss, discussion goes on, mage pulls 2nd boss with all trash still up.
I leave my own key in disgust.
Dont think you have any grounds to report anyone. Just because its your key you dont get to dictate the route.
Most groups pull the maggot and then either stun it or use a personal CD to survive.
It sounds like you died then complained about it. If you cant deal with the maggots in UR you are gonna have a bad time as there are a number of them and they are not even the worst thing in that place.
Not saying the mage did the right thing but also complaining about it all the way through the dungeon isnt going to help.
Let’s be real here. It’s a PUG. A lot of people don’t even manage to find their interrupt button, and you expect them to stun? And most CC gets broken on damage anyway. The reality is, you mag have a point in organised groups, but in my experience, what you say can be done usually isn’t done.
i had some reports in the beginning of s1 i think. i dont play with toxic animals so i dont care.
and i had this stange pop up window with “people reported you. more reports could lead to bad”.
but nothing happens.
I play a ~2070 rating tank too, so I know pulling trash onto a boss is standard. On some bosses, definitely not on all. In this specific case, the 2nd boss of Underrot, this is entirely not the case for 2 reasons: 1) you clear trash before 2nd boss and then proceed to kill trash before 3rd boss to give BL, which is used on 1st boss or on trash before it, time to come back up and 2) you pull the boss in the little corner next to the bones to control his first charge and where the adds spawn.
You’re trying to defend behaviour that is without a doubt indefensible, his intentions were 100% clear.
And regardless of all this, pulling is quite simply, unless specifically asked for by the tank, quite simple never the job of DPS anyway, but the job of the tank.
If you were arguing with him all the way to the 2nd boss he probably decided that he was better off out of it. Thats his choice to make.
If you dont want to put your fate in the hands of randoms, pugging is probably not the best thing to do.
2nd boss you should kill the add that fixates and play boss with 4-5 trash at least that’s how we play it. I know a lot of people do what you mention but that’s due to their low skill of being able to play bosses with trash. Bosses with trash is a tactic over many dungeons for a lot of seasons and its not nothing new.
In order to avoid people pulling trash at bosses just say “I’m new to this game” “I’m not good at this game” and tell them to play safest possible.
But if you have something like fire mage + shadow they can melt a pack with a boss if you have cds and bl so why waste extra time killing them separately without cds?
