Hello, I am a new player to rp with some experience with addons and conventions of naming, lore and in character and universe behavior. I have been quite curious about classic rp due to the current game servers being more or less somewhat repetitive after observing Argent dawn for a few years.
I noted that Zandalari tribe had very little public rp or let alone usage of rp addons so now I have turned to Hydraxxian Waterlords.
Is this server active with rp? How does it compare to Zandalari tribe or Argent dawn with its quality?
Are there any good guilds for Slaughtered Lamb frequents or should I try making one myself?
If I transfer a horde character from zandalari tribe, is there enough active endgame crowd to actually play the game on both factions instead of just the dominant one?
I havent experienced any form of serious roleplay on the server. Neither in Classic, nor in TBC. In my experience, RP servers are usually just normal PvE servers with a little more sophisticated community. But thats about it. LFG chat is just people talking about everyday stuff and of course LFG questions.
There may be a serious RP guild, but overall its just another PvE server.
Oh, and even though horde population is really low, it is still possible to find other people for endgame content. Its just a little tougher and i would advice to get a guild as soon as possible. Allies on the other hand have more than enough people.
Greetings Eddwyer. I have been rping in Hydraxian Waterlords for a while now on the Alliance side and hopefully I can answer a few of your topics.
In regards to your first question I would say the server is fairly active. In the evenings there is usually a tavern open. There have also been several events lately related with the start of the expansion, and there will surely be more in the coming weeks and months. I haven’t played in ZT so I can’t compare it with our server. It has significantly less population than Argent dawn, but enough to have several guilds in alliance and horde side.
At the moment there isn’t any guild that is occupying the Slaughtered lamb but we have some groups of sneaky warlocks sneaking around
I mostly play Alliance so I can’t say for sure but I believe that the raiding scene in the Horde side is alive and kicking as well as the Alliance’s.
Seconding Reimund, but also thought I’d mention there’s an RP discord server (can’t post link :s)… so if you shout out for the link in a global channel somebody will likely send you that. It’s by no means all of the RP but several guilds advertise there, and public events are posted there too. Players new to RP welcomed with open arms!
As a player who has been on both servers, I must say that this one is far better than the other. Plenty of reasons to why, one being the hubs - even if they are not always open, it adds a place to go to without having to know each and every person on the realm so to say to get a bit of RP going for you. A neat way, to get to know people’s character’s by socialising.
This server is more active RP wise than ZT was, it has a high quality - not met even one person making a shameful display of a character and actually Roleplaying it, unlike ZT where there is just too much forceful bending to the lore to fit their own character.
There is not any right now, unsure if you should make an entire guild for it, but perhaps make a hosted hub there.
I do not know all too much about the Horde side, though I have seen some RP here and there - especially when people post that they are somewhere ICly, mainly in or around Silvermoon. Unsure about RP outside of events or the Peg-leg-pub for hordeside.
I hope this gives some insight from one of the three guild leaders who decided to move their guild away from ZT and to HW!
