I have read through a lot of topics here and there’s years worth of posts trying to pitch ideas to prevent queue syncing/ mass pre-mades
But when I think of it from a developer perspective I think the idea of placing a deserter debuff on a player when they decline a BG queue is probably the best, swift solution but it needs some discussion.
I think it was Leeches who had this idea first, good job.
The idea goes like this:
If you join a BG queue and decline, you get a 1 min deserter debuff which stacks for each decline within the same hour as the first.
It’s so simple it’s beutiful but there’s some slight problems that need some clarification.
What if you are queued for 5 BGs? Sure if one pops and you’re in you aren’t declining any other queues so you shouldn’t get a debuff.
But, if you decide you dont want to be in a queue for epics and you decline you get deserter which would automatically take you out of the other queues.
So to fix this the deserter debuff will need to have a unique tag reference to each type of BG queue so that the debuff only applies to that specific BG you just declined from.
I think this is quite a simple update to implement.
And I can’t see any downsides to this since a normal person who declines a queue isn’t going to be hurt by the 1min debuff. They are leaving the queue because they want to and wont be rejoining it anytime soon.
The only people affected by this would be queue syncers which would prevent both solo syncing in blitz and group syncing in the rest.
I really think this idea is brilliant, so if any mvp can get it across to a core group to have it tested or something I think we could all appreciate that
Yeah I’m not against a revamp either. Anything that provides a ~fair&balanced experience.
However, I do think many maps have little quirks & biases favouring each faction. Rather than revamp everything to find perfect balance, I think mixed factions may solve a lot of issues (queue times / full premades / map bias).
too hard to implement (takes about 30 min of developer’s time). Blizz would rather spend this time developing new store mount. At least they can charge you extra this way. Fixing bgs doesnt bring you any profit
you seriously think it was your or the other guy’s idea? Noone else who thought about this issue for 5 min would come to same conclusion? Lack of ideas is the last things that prevents fix here
1min is to short for first decline. It should start at 10, then 30 and 60. Leaving an active shuffle should give at leasy 60 minute ban. All should be account wide of course.
I can’t decide whether BG leavers should be prevented or not. I can’t gauge whether them leaving in the first 2 minutes is a good thing for making room for newcomers, who actually want to try and win, or a bad thing because it enables their impatience and prevents them from ever actually trying. Which lets them always be riding on someone else coat-tails.
People who leave a solo arena though definitely need to be taught not to. Since this isn’t a social game anymore, I don’t think putting them in a temporary transmog of shame would achieve anything either. I think it should be more personal like making a phone call to their mothers and telling how how much her son is letting everyone down and failing at the game lol
I personally prefer if these people leave the group, rather than stay and cry about how their faction is the worst at PvP, the enemy have two players from Argent Dawn and are for sure a premade, everyone but them is bad and they already know it is a loss from the 2min preparation time room.
Doubt anything the game does would reform these people, I’d imagine they are the same in real life, blaming all their shortcomings on external factors.
