Blizzard should consider adding a proper matchmaking queue system for Mythic+ dungeons that is simpler and more accessible than the current group finder and meta-focused premade system. Right now, players must manually search for groups, compete with item level requirements, and follow strict “meta” compositions just to get invited. This creates unnecessary barriers, especially for casual players or those who prefer to play solo without spending long periods waiting for acceptance. A streamlined queue would make Mythic+ more welcoming and reduce wasted time.
The system could work similarly to other dungeon queues: players select their role and desired key level, and the game automatically forms balanced teams. Progression should also feel smoother. For example, if a group times a +10 key successfully, they should automatically unlock and queue for +11 without the risk of breaking or downgrading the key. This would reward skill and consistency while removing the frustration of losing progress due to one bad run.
Additionally, Blizzard could encourage players to use the queue by offering small bonuses, such as 10% extra damage or healing for queued groups compared to premade teams. This would balance the advantage that organized groups naturally have and motivate more players to participate in matchmaking.
Overall, adding Mythic+ queuing would make the mode more fair, efficient, and enjoyable, allowing more players to experience high-level content without being blocked by social or meta restrictions.
A system like this could possibly work if you’re talking about weeklies, hell, i could see myself doing it just for a quick weekly. That being said, i for one, would never use it if my goal was to actually push keys. I prefer being able to pick and choose who i play with, not only for my own keys, but also which keys i’d be joining.
So you claim “meta restrictions” but at the same you want a system which makes “balanced comps” so..aka making classes which has res, hero more desireable over those who don’t have it?
Ever figured why a meta list even exists?
If 5man PvE content needs to have matchmaking extended, then it should reach the same level as for matchmade raiding (ie. LFR). Raid Finder drops Veteran quality equipment. The equivalent 5man difficulty should be the “highest” that has matchmaking enabled.
Actually they could do it up to resil keys level, i don’t see a way how that gonna work for higher keys when you want, you know, have a specific dispell type(like disease or or poison) for example.
I mean, there is enough consideration for such a system that if you go into the forums and search old threads, you can do a PHD on the subject.
No offense to you in any way (you seem like a chill dude), but the post does not add anything new to the discussion, since it does not address any issues that would plague such a system.
What restrictions are you speaking of? I get instant invites as Guardian even when it’s C tier. I also fill my own groups very fast.
If I was pushing for title I would play meta and just form my own crew and never use a queue feature.
The issue is everyone wants to play DPS. They should first remove tanks and healers but if they do that no one will want to play DPS because it will have to do what tanks and healers currently do.
