Quick question about ilvl

I don’t have DF expansion yet but I want the highest ilvl gear before I buy it. So, is it the same thing if Im doing timewalking dungeons from earlier expansions or the Shadowlands ones are giving me the highest ilvl gear?

Thanks

For the highest Ilvl in SL you need to do Mythic raids.

But idk if that is what you meant

If you have intention to buy DF, then you should not spend not even a second of your life obtaining highest possible for lvl 60 gear.

I have, but on the sale. Not before it.

Hi Caesin. I mean only dungeons, not raids. Don’t know how I need to wait for raids que, and Im here from WOTLK so never did LFR thing before, only dungeons.

I’d say ignore getting high Ilvl in SL, as Furyecliplser said.

Level to 60, maybe do some quests or world quests. They should give up to 180 ilvl gear.

Around that ilvl is enough to start with Dragonflight

Highest ilevel is pretty hard.

Basically:

The highest ilevel gear come from m+ and Raids, now the m+ systems in SL are disabled so not achievable anymore.

So basically, the crafted blue set you can/could buy in 9.4 is higher ilevel then rhe dungeon loot now.

The highest ilevel gear i think is likely ZM but would require a you to cyher it to max ilevel, which means u need to do the entire story n then start farming the zone.

Ok so I should buy AH blue gear and Im fine?

If i remember correctly its 1 piece can be bought at 262, and the rest is 236?. If ur asking would u be fine in DF with that set, yes u would be.

Also prolly the fastest ilevel catch up.

M+0s can give you 266 ilevel pieces, however may prove extremely challanging to find other players to partake in the content as thats premade content snd ud need others who are level 60 and wanting to farm gear to get.

You’d likely be fine with the gear you’d get from normal leveling to 60. Can always pick up something extra in the AH if it’s too difficult once you’re in DF.

Keep in mind that you can equip only one 262 blue.

Do note however, levelling in df will award gear pretty early your gonna use pretty fast, i only held onto my gear for aslong as i did because i had a full set of 298 with 1 304 weapon

Time walking is fairly fun, you should do it for fun. Gear earned with TW is good enough for DF leveling. Also you will earn currency which can be spent on mounts, reputation, heirlooms.

I don’t know the system well, but what do you mean with TW dungeons? They are for special events, rarely. If Chromie time, you’d probably have to do Heroic, if those are even available because currently there seems to be a weird issue with only showing BfA dungeons and not even heroic.

You didn’t say what ilvl you have on said char right now, but if you want to easymode a relatively potent ilvl, then do Zereth Mortis content. Eventually you get ilvl 252 everything easily, and a 265 or so legendary, but soon after you can, if you want to spend 5-digit gold, equip up to two 291 legendaries.

There are still Fated raids, apparently only one of three again, though, not like pre-DF-event time. But there’s no LFR for that anymore, so you’d have to find a PUG, and the drop chances are frustratingly low, and don’t expect an intelligent loot trading in a hurry. (And the system itself is also stupidly rigid in when it allows trading in the first place.)

I am not into Mythic+ dungeons (with keystones), so I don’t know whether they are still working as before, but you can get VERY high ilvl through them, I think up to 304. - But you’d have to find other people willing to do them. (And I think they have weekly boss loot lock.) Everything group-based from SL will be kinda lowpop now.

Oh, also make sure to down Antros, the Zereth Mortis world boss. That one is still Fated, too, and might drop 285 gear, although you might never see any drop.

Im am now at around 190 ilvl.

Zerith Mortis will get you more than enough gear.
You can buy 226 gear from Anima (500 anima each).
WQs will give 233 at first and 252 when you upgrade the Cypher Console (a few weeks maybe?).
World boss drops 259 gear.
The ZM Campaign gives a 265 legendary belt (not sure if its special powers still work, certainly doesn’t outside SL zones).

At level 62 in DF I’m getting quest rewards at about 240ish. So still using my ZM gear and it’s working well. You could put in more effort doing Raids and Dungeons and your gear will last a few levels longer but probably not really worth it.

This really. If you want to be OP for the first couple of levels what you should do is buy DF, reach level 61 and then buy the crafted gear from the AH, it was near Mythic SL ilvl.

Where I can buy this Eternal Aspirant’s Medallion? NPC in Oribos doesn’t have it? Is it changed now? There is no pvp vendors in SW selling that, except some low one with low stats… So many changes

The WB is still Fated - 285. Only Antros, though. Not sure about Mor’geth, maybe that one, too, but CBA to go there.

Also, use HandyNotes and/or RareScanner to spot some treasures. There are one-time ones that immediately award gear above the anima-purchased 229. (Although without flying unlocked some might be hard to reach.)

Occasionally I also saw some weird gear in the AH that I couldn’t figure out. Its stats stated that the item changes the item level of worn gear to a certain one. Dunno whether that is only for PvP, though.

As others have said, you’d be wasting your time doing that unless you just want to do it as a personal challenge or something. You shouldn’t do it for completionists sake either because it would be way more efficient to collect things when you’re level 70.

You’d replace all that gear within a few hours in Dragonflight, assuming you’re not fully exploring immediately and stuff, and it’s pretty easy at the start so you don’t even need an advantage.
