Rather than utilize the Replica PvP Vendors that were originally added in patch 4.3.0, we’re changing all of the original WoW Classic (Era) PvP gear to be usable as transmog appearances.
All of these pieces of armor have been and will continue to be available from the Legacy Armor and Legacy Weapon Quartermasters in both the Champion’s Hall in Stormwind and the Hall of Legends in Orgrimmar.
Yo guys… so everybody can buy old vanilla pvp gear and transmog it even without they had that ranks from vanilla? Are you kidding? Or it will be just for ppl that achieve that rank in the past ?
I am aware how the replica gear worked and you only need rank 8 not 13/14. Singling out r14 gear made no sense in 2011 and makes no sense now.
I have done rank 9 so its not an issue for me personally but I dont see why others should not be able to mog it if they already bought it for honor. The gear isnt any more special than any season gear.
Whats the difference to wrathful gear then? Why not gate mogging the shoulders behind 2k arena rating? Why does anyone deserve to mog them as opposed to the r14 gear?
It was an arbitrary line drawn in 2011, I mean its somewhat a non issue since its set so low but it still makes no sense.
You could set arena shoulders at 1,8 k too so theres that.
Keeping rank 14 PvP gear the same as retail maintains its prestige. Allowing it to be transmoggable without any effort dilutes its value and history.
*For reference, retail behaviour allows vanilla rank 14's to transmog their earned gear, and allowed new players to unlock the ability to do so via raising their RBG rating. This has been the case since it was first introduced.*
It was stated by Blizzard in original cataclysm on patch 4.3.0 that:
"We'd like to find ways to make these items available to players who didn't earn them through the original system, while keeping them prestigious for those that did."
r14 gear was never removed from the game. Sure if they added naxx 40 back t3 would also not be prestigous at all and Im all for that too.
The only prestigous transmog are rightfully gold challenge modes and limited duration arena gear. Atleast you need to be somewhat decent at the game for both.
It was removed from the game from Wrath to Mop. Its arbitrarily rare because they removed naxx 40, adding it to the black market auction house does however barely change that.
its same like transmog sets from gold challenges in MoP and WoD. You cant obtain them anymore. And yes it is prestigious.
Idk why should everybody run with the same transmog
If you wanted this, you should play back in the day. And even with this you still have a chance with RBGs so this change is nonsense
