If it would take another 10+ weeks, won’t the gear basically be obsolete by that time?

Anyone know when you can go beyond R13 0%? They’ve added a PvE timeline but didn’t mention which week the PVP update is live, if that’s even getting added next phase.

It will only take you 1 week to get R14 if you are R13 now. If you are rank 0 and start doing it now, you will still be (almost) R14 before AQ40 releases. The grind is quite fast in SoD and does not require sacrificing your life. The weapons R14 offers will probably be slightly better than BWL weapons.
Whether or not it is worth, you decide.
Check Ashakandi, better than Rank 14 weapons, and available months before.

They will probably buff R14 weapons just like they buffed many other PvP pieces, otherwise R14 will be dead on arrival
The speed on rank14 two handers are golden… 3.80 always gona be better than 3.40 - 3.50… dosent matter if the dps is 5-10 less on the 3.80 weapon
Ashkandi is better than R14 Weapons, you must check it before say something, SOD Ashkandi is way better than Vanilla/Classic Ashkandi.
What makes you think rank14 weapons wont get buffed to? Pvp armor got buffed
Its only reasonable to expect rank14 to be 5-10 dps less and have a whoping 30+ stamina more
You said this, that´s not correct, the important thing is the top end damage, not the speed, same top end damage and faster, is better.
Ashkandi 235-354, 81.81 DPS
R14 235-353, 77.37 DPS
The stats of today, I´m not a clairvoyant to see the future, today, Ashkandi is better.
Months of Sulfuras and Ashkandis everywhere, R14 weapons will be a joke.

R14 is R14 no mather if the gear is good or not. I know that ranking in SoD is way easier and faster but still.
On my retpaladin i always set goals to achive.
On vanilla it was to obtain all tier sets. Classic under the pandemic it was to be in T2 and Ashbringer. Now it is R14 and full pvp set, T3 whit Ashbringer and hopfuly we will be able to cleanse it to. Its more about having goals and trye to achive them.
Now equip both and look at your actual top end damage
No its not really worth it.
The pvp set has better stamina thats about it.
The pvp weapons has less stats and dps than current raid weapons.
