Killing semi-afk PvEers in PvE spec trying to run past you for an 8 min Drek kill is not pvp, it’s a weird power trip.
I thought all the PvP heroes were gonna go show their skill in a premade v premade AB and WSG matches? 
I wonder if ppl who are complaining about pvp in AV are the same ones who were raid grouping to gank levelers in open world for their first cap after honor launch…

Where was that rule ever written down? PvP happens in battlegrounds, solo, premade or with friends.
No one is forcing you to do it, you know.

There’s not many running late night, when I sometimes play. Most people sleep at 3am wednesday night, but due to certain real life commitments that’s when I have time to play.
Just because you did, doesn’t mean that everyone else did. I bet some people that did the rank 14 grind in 2005 didn’t bother in 2019. Same thing.
I dinged literally a week ago, so I haven’t had any other time to do it, really. Even if that’s after the general curve. Anniversary is not my main game and will never be.
According to my ranker addon, it takes about 2.6 million honor for rank 14. Assuming 3k honor per AV, that’s roughly 850 AV games in total. That’d probably make most sane people beyond sick after that kind of grind, but these people still keep going, that’s the mind boggling part. Personally, I’m stopping at rank 10 when I have my full blue set, I couldn’t do 2.6 million honor in AV. 500-600k honor for rank 10 is a more reasonable time sink for a sideproject like anniversary. I gladly play some actual PvP in WSG/AB, though, even after the rank 10 grind.
You will deffo not get “players” in bgs in TBC. Most “pvp-ers” will semi afk for basic gear in bgs to play arena.
If you bend your pvp “ standards” over r14 and make AV pve grind with win trading pattern(win fast ir loose fast just dont make game too long) you will do the same in TBC.
Lots of 2005 rankers ranked even in 2019.
On side note today’s r14 means deffo even less than it meant in in 2005.
Difference is that in 2005 R14 people at least knew basic pvp ruleset and mechanics.
There might be, there might not be. Not the point though. “I did it in 2019 and it was miserable. I don’t care in 2025, why do people care so much now?” is a pretty dumb argument. If even an argument, which is what I replied to.
People who really care about pvp care and wanna have AV meta removed.

Its not might I ranked with lots of original 2005 r14 rankers. Relativizing facts is just dumb.
I’m not sure if I misunderstand you. But why should people not care in 2025 because people have ranked in earlier iterations of Classic WoW? The gear is still amazing for pretty much every piece of endgame content vanilla has to offer.

Yeah and that gear should be reward for those who want to pvp.

Even turtling premade of R14 is more pvp than boss bot massive race run of both factions. I dont defend griefers. However they are allowed it to do so.
Tho its pvers meta turning AV into bot fest fault. If they really cared for honor efficiency andpvp they would face turtles with countering strategies. There been ranking premades in 2019 that effectivelly countered turtles and still gain honor required for each game.
So if you care in 2025 for pvp you pvp and also you keep asking for removing SOM AV rates for sake of AB and wsg. That also turns into diversity of real pvp battlegrounds and not forcing people to do forced pvp if they want pvp and grief r14 bots in av.
Problem was created on side of pve, minmaxing bots and sweatlords and Blizzard when they made farming hinor in pvp premades in wsg and ab not efficient and dead and kept this crap going for years. Not on side pvpers who want pvp.
Even if it means premading and socializing in mmorpg game.
I think I somewhat agree with above. Personally, I’m not even much for PvP at all, almost exclusively into PvE. The best solution might be to separate vanilla PvE and PvP gear more, so the people wanting the best PvE gear (or close to) don’t have to play AV for weeks on end. But that’d require #changes ofc, which the most diehard Classic/Era fans don’t want.
I disagre with changes mate. We seen that it did not work in retail. Every change makes holes that are than patched with bigger nonsense.
Its simple just remove AV honor favourable honor rates.
And pvers do not have to pvp for pve.
Classic raiding is kinda easy with all the guides and coordinated worldbuffing and known mechanics.
There us not valid argument that pvers need to pvp for pve.
Game is already easy for pvers in classic.
Pvpers also could say they are forced to pve to have advantage in pvp especially in later phases.
Just dont rewamp anything to “modern” mentality of players. Because its not even modern mentality, it was always here just todays Blizzard is to weak resist to spoiled crying “kids”.
Classic should be as close experience to Vanila not road to pve one button retail rotation solution to all problems.
I said it before and still belive that do the change they did. I dont remember if it was in TBC or WOTLK when they changed so AV is built on recourses instaed. So kill the boss or take the oposite team to 0.
That meens no more pointless long AV’s.

I don’t give a toss about a title, gonna be hand of adal and then salty soon enough. All I care about is T2 level epic set and a femur level weapon during BWL phase. That’s it. PvE grind for PvE gear.

One of our main tanks went R14, now he’s going R11 on his shaman, and he’s having a blast.
I agree that the R14 grind is a woosie, but no one is forcing you, or anybody, to do it. It wasn’t meant to be an easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy. You say yourself Anni isn’t your main gimmick anyway, so why get so fussed about it?
Then why are you here, complaining about R14…?
They even made the ranking easier. Imagine if the original ranking system would still be in place. People would be crying all day.

It would be much, much worse.
R14 now is attainable by anyone if they put the time in, it’s up to the individual to decide if it is worth for them or not.

I don’t get it. I’m not going to visit AV any time soon. No fun playing there. WSG and AB more fun and have reputations to grind.
