Race change to allied race?

Hello all,

I’ve looked over forums and couldn’t find the precise information I need. Only vague stuff in general.

My question is: What will happen if I race change from dwarf to dark iron dwarf? Will I be able to do heritage armor and weapons quests? Mount quests etc? Or it means that if I change race, I will have to level up another dark iron dwarf from scratch and do those quests on that dummy character instead? If so… what level would I need to reach to unlock everything? Also question about Shadowforge, racials etc. I never did a race change so frankly I have no idea how it works…

Youll need to level a new character

To max level?

It didn’t use to be max level, but with the level squish I’m honestly not sure what the level would be now.

You only have to level to 50 to take part in the heritage armor ql.

I’ve done it recently on a few of my alts.

No, race changing to another race locks that character out from all heritage quests.

(Such as this one. Was regular Draenei before)

Its all explained right here

They should honestly change that. The reasoning was that core races had to be exalted with their faction to get heritage but allied races didn’t have one and so the character had to be leveled from level 1 no boosts or race changes.

Since then unlocking allied races became much easier and core races don’t need rep for heritage anymore. Might as well make it possible to get heritage on any character from that race.

No. I am against that. Otherwise someone could just level na uni-race class like a Warrior all the way up and drop a lot of money to skip the journey to earn it by constantly race-swapping over and over again with the same character.

It diminishes the effort and achievement for yourself to have earned it. Paying for it is not earning it.

I was more speaking of the leveling honestly.
