Add race change to the barber shop.

Stays within faction and class availability.

The more you do it, the more expensive it gets.

The first one starts at 500g, doubling each time, capping out at 10000g. This could reset every season.

Pros:

  • You can try out each race, and it’s not a big deal switching too and from. It would be fun.
  • You can have each racial ability available to your class, depending on what content you might be doing.
  • If classes become more universal across races, you will have more options to choose from and have no time restraint on swapping race.
  • It gives you an increased amount of character customisation because you’re not limited to your 1 race. You could have transmogs that suit a certain race, and even saved barbershop profiles.
  • Pro for Blizzard, players are more likely to buy WoW tokens than race changes. So having the cost of race change being high, but not too high, and available at a moment’s notice, players would use the race change function more often, increasing their gold costs, potentially without realising. Like ‘Oh it’s only 10000g, let’s do it. Actually I don’t like this race, 10000g switch back.’

Cons:

  • Players with limited class to race availability might feel hard done by, such as druids. (But, at least their cost wouldn’t be too high trying the different races, and overtime it could incentivise Blizz to add more druid races).
  • aaaaand whatever you guys that disagree think. Too tired to do cons.

It is a good suggestion but i’m sure Blizzard will never ever change a thingie that gives her real cash!

Yeah, I mean they added the gender change. They could, if they wanted, add most things to the barbershop, race change, faction change, name change. Then make their money from selling WoW tokens instead.

I don’t think they gonna make the same amount of money simply cause ppl can farm gold and do the change. As it is now its pure cash on their hands.

I don’t think such can work because of the racials etc, it requires a proper reload of the character rather than just cosmetic alterations.

Oh that’s just technical stuff. They can probably build in a ‘reload character’ after you’re done changing.

The main issue is the money. I don’t see them walking away from all that free cash.

I would love for races to be added to the barbershop.

Regarding the money - they’ve added gender to the barbershop and if I recall correctly, appearance changes were on the store too before they created the barbershop.

Regarding the racials, I don’t see why that would be a problem - switching covenants switches your abilities. Maybe racials are built into the race in a different way, but Blizz could definitely find a work around. My concern would be how they handle the swap with regards to active racial abilities. Racials aren’t equal in number across all races, so switching from Dwarf (1 active racial) to Worgen (3 active racials) could be awkward, which Worgen racial replaces the Dwarf’s Stoneform? A technical issue that Blizz can resolve. It could be a case of combat/utility racials are swapped, while racials like Worgen’s Two Forms and Vulpera’s Make Camp would simply grey out on the action bar or return to the spellbook.

Yes please. Its stupid we have to pay so much for everything in the game. I have been wanting to try different races on my rogue… to see what fits me better… but I am not gonna spend like 80 euro hopping between different races until I find my favourite one.

There isn’t any cons really other than Blizz losing money.

So it will never happen, or if they do, they’ll probably raise the cost of something else!

Yes please,so i can race change by paying gold, we are rich enough

I would race change any of warrior into a tauren,or dwarf or dark iron or zandalari troll

When you join a BG as a mercenary, it swaps your faction/race and you take on the racial of what you switched to. So it would be doable from barbershop. Might just need a loading screen afterward.
