I have a feature idea in mind that I would like to be in the game and for blizzard to consider it. I will explain more down below, The idea could of course be better/ or different but as long as it goes into the line of what I am about to explain below then thats also good. I am not strictly just saying that only this idea works, just something down this line.
I think it would be a nice feature if the race you choose can give you the option of joining an order. Its not complicated (even if it may sound like that)
Lets take the draenei for example, in their society, there are different (I dont know if its orders or what they are called but we have:
- The vindicators (paladins)
- The anchorites (priests)
- and I believe there are some for hunters too if I remember correctly, too bad for the warlock draenei (unless man ari) but then you can choose another race for an order or just be warlocks in your own path.
It would be nice if when you create a draenei paladin, you can have the option of joining and training with the vindicators (like class quests in classic wow but different ofc) you talk to one of the vindicators early on and he says if you want to continue your own path you can or you can join the vindicators. If you join the vindicators you immediately (or later) get the vindicator title and maybe some quests (I dont know about what) or maybe no quests at all, if its too much cost work for wow.
You also have the option of having a vindicator assisting you when you level in the world (like in legion class hall) Would it not be fun questing like Vindicator “Player Name” together with Vindicator Boros or another npcs which you can grow fond of. I myself like to quest without an npc but maybe occasionally it is fun to do so. THE MOST IMPORTANT ABOUT THIS IS THE TITLE.
The same with the priest class ects, so cool to be called Anchorite “Player Name”
I understand the problem with this, Some races maybe dont have an order or name or title for their priests/or other class. But as I said then they can go their own way.
I would also like to point out that this feature or thing added should be rather simple, so like a paladin trainer who lets you choose those options in the exodar (Title and that you joined the order) Not an expansive order hall with its own location and npcs because that is like the legion order hall and it cost way to much to dedicate an entire order hall (where to put it, what npcs should be there ects for every class/race) thats too much
No this idea is simple as I said, your regular paladin trainer that offers more choices for you (Title/follower ects) Since choosing the vindicator order (which of course you are only able to do so if you are a paladin) The npcs will say Vindicator “Plater Name” and not just “Player Name” when interacting with you but this is just a nice detail, if it is too much to ask then just leave it out.
It would in my opinion add a lot of fun possibilities because I feel like much in wow has to be created in your own head (Yes I know thats what rp games are for) but I mean something as simple as a Vindicator or Anchorite/ Vodoo priest should be in the game.
I feel like with every expansion, the races become less important/impactful, specially now that almost every race can be whatever class they want ( no lore reason as to why lightforged draenei can be warlocks) the sense is not there, they are lightbound, they dedicated themselves to the light, why would the fel corrupt/interest them?.
When creating a character back in the day, the races felt so unique, now they feel more like skin options, I remember also seeing a video where chris metzen explain carefully the draenei race and their dedication to the light and how carefully they were when creating it to fit the lore. Draenei became one of my favorite race when I delved more into them, starting in azyremyst and hearing the beautiful music, it will always be one of my favorite places to quest in. I really felt the uniqueness of the race by their default music and their plight/System ects.
