I used to like watching this event whenever I had the time, but now its just something I dont even bother tuning into because all they are doing for several days in a row is normal and heroic splits. It is so incredibly boring.
Now the fact that these players can put them self through this race after race I will never understand - some of them even quit or join a new guild.
Stupid question i think but what does split runs mean actually?
Splits is them funneling gear to their main raiders with the help of randoms and viewers to get stronger so they can get an edge in the mythic.
Edit: and they sometimes even have multiple of the same class and then pick the character that managed to get the most gear to progress with, it’s a pretty deranged thing.
In our guild we split our raiders into two groups, then half of us go on mains then the other half go on a suitable alt. We kill the bosses and only mains are eligible to get loot. Then we do it all again with swapping round who is on mains and alts. This way more of your team gets gear. The alts/friends don’t get any loot, it all goes to raiders.
