I know it depends on what i like the most. My favourite race is Zandalari Troll, but are the racial good for Monk?
What you want to do with your monk? Because honestly, people tend to think races are really important but if you don’t race for top 100 raid kills or high rated pvp, it doesn’t really matter. My monk is Mag’har cause I love orcs and they look cool. I’ve seen some zandalari do really high keys (+24s) so you can manage to play without a Belf dispell or good dps racial. I you prefer zandalari just go for it imo :3
I’m going to do a lot of pvp(arena and bg). With a Unholy DK.
Never matters, really, unless as the person said above you aim to be within the top 0.1% of players in either PvP or Pve
Orc > human
Regeneratin’ racial may come handy in arena when pillar hugging 
other than that i don’t see any pros or cons playing Zandalari.

I picked the ol green skin as visually I think they look the best. The animations remind me of street fighter. I had forsaken monk too but he didn’t seem as impactful and looked a bit weird imo
