So? Maybe people actualy want to min max and they care about every single 0,1% of their character power, is that a bad thing? Let people choose if they wanna power or looksâŚ
That sounds like a stupid idea, because then you strip away race individuality. Blood Elves will no longer be inherently resistent to arcane and good at enchanting, Pandaren wonât inherently be bouncy and humans wonât have dimplomacy skills. Instead everyone will choose the best racial that suits their playstyle.
If I were to choose, Iâd get the human diplomacy and the pandaren Bouncy trait for my Blood Elf monk⌠but that would make no freaking sense. Blood Elves can be diplomatic, but lack tact and they are not chubby at all to be considered bouncy.
So?
Plenty of people choose a race based on what they look like because they donât care more about stats than the race itself.
Sure but instead of needlessly compromising your race choice for stats or stats for race we can have a detached trait system that doesnât impact our choice of race and stats.
Basically, It doesnât matter whether someone chooses race over stats or stats over the race with a detached/separate trait system you can be whoever you want while at the same time you can choose w/e traits you want.
The current race trait system doesnât accomplish anything and just adds unnecessary problems like faction imbalance.
seems to me its more of a player mentality problem
But now we at least have diversity because people either play power or looks, if it was your way there will be 90% of X race because of looks and one and only trait that is the best, no thanks.
You people sicken me.
Judging by OP youâd be happiest if you could just have a big shiny button in a guide that will create your character from a template and have everyone else in the game do the same, perfectly content having an army of uniformed clones of one another for the sake of perfect balance and equal chances.
Itâs already bad enough that the only class left with some shreds of class identity is a Warlock. Generalization is killing the RPG element of MMORPG. If you want everyone to be same, why donât you play an FPS game or something?
You know what, this game USED TO BE FUN, before all the players became OBSESSED with numbers. Seriously, youâd be having a lot more fun if you stopped obsessing about 0.5% differences in numbers. Now itâs just toxic swamp of elitists and devs bowing to them.
Sure so what is the point of a fallacious argument like this one:
???
First of all, your argument is so hyperbolic and ridiculous it hurts.
Secondly, there is enough subjective taste difference between few mil. of people to have decent race spread so stop with your 90% BS.
Thirdly, people who play for stats are already choosing the best stats so your argument falls right here.
On top of that traits can be redesigned to introduce more balance and usability depending on what you want to be class/spec wise.
Itâs funny how you are completely oblivious to the fact that right now character creation is nothing more than pressing a button with ready template.
If you actually understand what I am proposing you would understand that detached/separate trait system actually removes that template like character creation and introduces more freedom of creation.
Player mentality doesnât impact the fact that given system allows restricted character creation.
As they should jeez where do all of you self-entitled people come from? Must be late millennials and genZ people m8 go and eat your vegan burger and Watch some BLM videos and simp at your girlfriend
- it wasnât âan argumentâ (nor fallacious, becauseâŚ)
- I was just sharing my opinion on the matter
- ???
- Profit
Thereâs no restriction at all with the right mindset.
Soooo, player mentality DOES impact it.
mhmhmhmâŚ
Right, then creat me a Blood Elf on Aliance with panderan Food traits
GL using your mindset to do it
No thatâs just being silly.
Youâre making up silly reasons to try and make a point.
You canât have TOTAL freedom in a game like WoW (or 99% of all games for that matter). Itâs just not possible or realistic.
No itâs not because you canât change what system doesnât allow you to change no matter the mindset.
I was CLEARLY talking about it in a certain way:
If you feel you have to roll a certain race because of its racial abilities, thatâs on YOU. Thatâs mindset.
Iâm not talking about wanting to swap every kind of little detail around about a race. Thatâs just silly. Where does that end?
âyeah I like orcs, but I really wish they had night elf ear options and could transform into green worgen oh and also that their voice is like that of a gnome.â
Yeah I know you took it out of context to make a âblunt pointâ
And all you can to do is to choose arbitrary template but you said that there is no restriction at allâŚ
No one says that anyone here wants to change even the smallest detail about the race. We are simply talking about the possibility of removing race traits and replacing them with separate from the race trait system.
Out of context? Sure buddy.
I did not. I just explained to you what I said.
But sure, ignore that.
ROFL. âokayâ
Some people are taking this âripcordâ type stuff way too far.
Not. Everything. Is. About. Numbers. And. Performance.
Gl talking about âthe possibilityâ.
Iâd say the possibility is exactly: zero.
And with that, Iâll take my leave from this thread.
You literally switched narration to fit it into your argument lol
You werenât explaining anything you reacted to my statement with a counterargument stating that with the right mindset there is no restriction at all which is nonsense because no matter the mindset you canât change what system doesnât allow you to change.
You simply made overexaggerated statement and now you are backpedaling.
It has literally NOTHING to do with ripcord.
Sure and what I proposed is not about numbers and performance but about more freedom of character creation
Probably, but it is good to keep floating ideas.
Just like yours âwe need to change that cuz it forces people to do whatnotâ while it doesnt
So stop with yours âsome races provides huhe dps boostâ BS
[quote=âBlinkrush-magtheridon, post:68, topic:191092â]
90% BS.
So does yours then, and its juwt proves mine even more, if u make 10 traits people can choose from, there will be one took by most because its bestâŚ
Na theres absolutely nobody playing orc in every class if their main focus is pvp
I can actually hook you up with one of the senior PMs at Blizzard.
Iâm just kidding, go be crazy somewhere else.
