Draenei racial is extremely underwhelming.
The HoT is mostly worthless in PvE regardless of CD, the only saving grace it has is that its off-GCD. Game currently is about surviving 1shots, 20% heal doesn’t do a thing when damage intake is in a state where characters are on the constant verge of death closing in on 50% hp.
If you are keen on not redesigning it, then make it heal for significantly more. There are many unavoidable spells that hit for 3-4mill on a 6-6.5mill HP pool, make it cancel out 1 of those so make it heal 50-60% hp. Is it too much for tanks? Okay then redesign the spell because you won’t be able to make it meaningful for dps if you have to keep it bad to not mess up tank selfsustain (shouldnt happen regardless as its a CD)
Let’s be real, significant majority of the active players will only roll draenei if the sims say it’s beating other races. Current power disparity comes from power gain as well, not because the heal is weak. Whoever wanted to play draenei for the looks already does. The only time I remember when people were hyped to play a draenei was either in Wotlk or Cata where the 1% hit rating was raidwide.
Gonna disregard racial effects in PVP as racials in PVP should be disabled since the Burning Crusade and on the other hand you have specific PVP scaling for spells.
I don’t like these changes at all. Racials are supposed to be flavor. If something needs fixing look at night elves, dwarfs and trolls.
These new changes are a lot less flavorful than before. I liked my void elf doing shadowfrost damage and I liked my maghars getting a buff from one of the clans, there is no reason to change this to some min-max version.
And light forged draenei should not be locked into the healing role.
How low is panda atm? Just asking
Apologies but I’m gonna hijack this thread a little rather than make my own.
If you want more diversity you need to look at customisation options and visual agency for players more than anything.
Dracthyr are a great example as they allow you to play in either dragon or visage from and have a plethora of customisation options. The only issue for them is the lack of armor or mogs for the dragon form, but I’m willing to bet they’re already a super popular race choice since 11.0.5.
(Oh and please put in a dragon armour colour that matches the evoker anniversary set, it’s comical this wasn’t thought about)
To be honest I’m pretty sure many people don’t even care about racials and just want what looks the best in armour, hence why humans, orcs, night elves & blood elves are the most popular.
I would absolutely play a worgen if I were able to play in human form permanently or have an option to disable helms and shoulders in worgen form, as they always look trash and you guys refuse to remodel armour for different races.
I would absolutely play Kul’tiran if they had more body options such as the slim male model or just one with less of a belly. They also need way more face and other customisation options.
I would absolutely play male draenei if there was a model that looked remotely like the key art from way back in TBC. The males have forever looked too dorky for me.
But if we’re just talking racial power there are a bunch of other outliers you haven’t addressed:
Human racial ‘Will to Survive’ is utterly useless for healers and borderline useless for DPS in PvP. Please change it to something else. Perhaps an incapacitate reduction or breaker that only triggers 45 sec cd with PvP trinket.
Double hearthstone is also pretty useless, we should have an extra one such that we can bind to two locations.
Shadowmeld will forever be the best racial ability in the game unless it is altered.
Touch of the grave could do with a buff.
Darkflight should also passively increase movement speed by 2% at all times.
Nightborne ability is still abysmal even with this buff. And their throughput racial is useless for melee & hunters.
You shouldn’t feel shoehorned into playing a caster as nightborne just the same as you shouldn’t feel shoehorned into playing Lightforged to heal now.
Despite being popular, blood elf racials are super underwhelming compared to most other races.
Edit: On a positive note, the change to spacial rift is awesome. As a priest with zero mobility this feels so much better. But this also highlights an issue with class design as a class shouldn’t have to be a certain race just so they can gain some much needed mobility (Buff priests, please).
Please continue to iterate on this Blizzard. This stuff often gets left in the dark.
hi, I believe that the choice of a certain race in the game very often depends on a purely aesthetic component. It’s fine to improve the racials of races that are little used, but beyond this it would be appropriate to evaluate the purely aesthetic issue. First of all, in my opinion it would be much better if each race had the possibility of making it more massive or thinner.
As a human I would prefer my caster to be thinner than a warrior. A further problem with some races, I’m thinking of worgen, is the fact that 99% of the transmos on them don’t fit well especially due to the size of the shoulders and the helmets/hoods (for warlocks for example, the only usable set is tier 1 ). The orc for example has important racials, but he is honestly too massive and with more muscle size options he would be much better especially if you make him a caster.
In any case, in my opinion, this list of buffs lacks the undead (touch of the grave is excessively low, we should raise its proc rate and increase the damage and increase the healing obtained even further), and it would be interesting to revisiting the racial aspects of the human (will of survive could become a passive reduction of damage below a certain percentage of life, or perhaps reduce the DC of the current racial)
The Pandaren PVP racial bonus 1% Versa from Pre-Mixed Pot of Noodles takes 10 seconds to apply on normal and rated BGs. This makes it unusable in a fast-paced game, especially in Blitz. I would like to recommend making this food to Persist through death so it would not be a chore to reapply it after every single death.
The new version of Entropic Embrace also increases the damage of any demons and pets by 5%?
Please reconsider those changes. Go hard. Stoneform and Shadowmeld are still busted as hell and that’s not gonna change anything as it is.
Seriously Stoneform is so strong for tanks it’s basically getting another defensive CD. No race should bring such a perk.
Until Stoneform and Meld are nerfed none of these changes mean anything.
What about Blood Elves??
the void elf Entropic Embrace racial has a very very low proc rate compared to the Live version, is this intentional?
Is the 5% damage and healing bonus just for the caster or does it also affect demons and pets?
Undead racial should buff too. Touch of the Grave doin 0.1-0.2 % dmg overall. other races have at least 1%.
Touch of the grave is too weak to be relevant in current content, but too strong to be an annoyance in legacy content.
Can’t reliably hit low level enemies even with low level weapons below needed health for some achievements, because touch of the grave oneshots them.
Make it good so it doesn’t just troll us or at least give it a toggle on/off.
