For the next expansion, I believe the racials needs to be removed, or made cosmetic, or reworked. When I play alliance, there’s only Human, Night Elf, and Gnomes (around 35 people in total, btw). When I play the horde, Undead and Orcs.
This just creates terrible obstacles and makes Alliance irrelevant too. I want to play Void Elf for my rogue, but I know that Night Elf is superior for PvP, and that creates an obstacle for me. From fantasy’s perspective, racials make sense, but in the current way they are superbly imbalanced and they damage the overall picture of both factions.

Tbh I’m wondering why it isn’t just -
Orc Bloodfury (no more stun buff)
Human (either vers or rep bonus)
Two examples but you get my idea. I really feel that Human/Orc/Nelf need crunching - but so does every race into just small perks.
Not that the vast majority of the playerbase can actually benefit from say the orc stun racial over a different race, but they believe it’s required to min/max especially in arena.

I dunno u can do stuff even with void elf passives if u know to play. Picking velf doesn’t restrict u from arena

Perhaps they could reuse the current talent system for racials.
Add additional ones and rebalance them.
Or just remove all combat racials and just make them all cosmetic and add a bunch more to play with.
Keep shadowmeld but make it not usable during combat so they still have the iconic racial but rogues cant use it as a second vanish.
Make Entropic embrace a toggle ability and remove the bonus damage and healing.
Letting void elves really go deeper into void elf RP and letting the high elf rpers keep it off.
Make Blood Fury not give bonus power and instead let us tie it with a major cooldown ability and give it a better effect, like entropic embrace but red instead. I’m sure orc warriors are gonna love it.
Actually ignore my first idea with the racial talent system. Make them all non-combat and give me more racial cosmetic! Racial combat abilities can wait until we get class skins.
They should remove racials completely. Problem solved

You’re attaching too much importance to racials. You’ve hit 1750 rating 5 years ago according to your achievements. I’d imagine theres a lot of things that have a far bigger impact than seeing a racial ability as an obstacle.

Who cares i also play final fantasy,but dont want wow to become like it where characters are only skins,also that guy boosts people and promotes it ,not because of that i like boosting.
Having a void elf be paladin is just STUPID like many others.or removing racials is stupid too,leave the character identity alone.
Orcs are big ,they take less stun etc etc,also all that ask for remove racials are just pve players generation z that wants it and wants it now or start crying,i hope the devs stop listening to thise kinds of people.

You only need to compare classic with dragonflight and its 2 diferent games,one for real men and other for fruits.

The game lost so much over the time ,like arrows on hunters,bullets for guns,no lfg so people actually SOCIALIZE etc etc,all the " quality of life " changes wow got only DESTROYED it,soon and i have no doubt this game will become free to play with a bunch of skins walking around and bots.

They want to eventually make classes available for all races, you shouldn’t be surprised if they remove racials as well, they’re already a lot less interesting than what they used to be anyway.
