Do I only get 1 gear once a week per account?
I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong but I have killed 6 or 7 bosses with multiple characters and I only got 1 bag with a random soulbound piece once.
is this bad luck or is it only once per week per account?
If that’s the case, why ??? lol, we are replacing this next week at lvl 71
At this point I wouldn’t bother with it because as you said we’ll replace them next week witht he first couple of green/blue quest drops.
exactly, im just going to buy the mounts and the heirloom ring, but just seems a bit odd, its not like its even high ilvl gear
You get one chance per day for the soulbound (493) gear. So far for me this has been one chance per character, but it’s been a while since I did the event on more than one char so Blizzard may have changed that.
(you get the chest after the first Ragnaros OR Onyxia OR Lich King kill)
Not sure if the 493 is daily or weekly, but it is per character - and you do have a chance of getting any free bits of gear doing the lil events - only items ye don’t get is the bags, pets and mounts
The bag drop from the last boss is weekly and you only get 1 bag from the first kill which gives you a 493 ilvl item but you can continue farming as more items will drop.
I just used the currency to buy pieces that were better ilvl than what i had and then used the upgrade currency to lvl up my gear. I am 491 ilvl now which is more than enough to get me started questing in War Within.
That’s what I have been doing too! Plus I was also using the catalyst to change my gear to tier sets for some added bonuses. 
Are you picking up the blue quest in each realm.
It’ll take a bit longer. The first zone just drops item level 409-ish stuff. 480-493 gear probably won’t be swapped out until level 76 or higher.
