… for regular expansion patches. Raid has always been an environment were balance was most of the time very good. The affixes produced some weird specs performing like hell due to the rng nature.
It also mess up some fights like the jailer. Please do not consider to go this path while we are in the middle of the expansion story wise. For a last patch it might be a good thing but I would have loved a mini raid more then recycled content tbh.
While i agree with current raids i dont think should have affixs.
Old raids id love to see it adopt this tbh.
Its nothing but absolute success to see season 1 raiding (castle nathria) still active, during season 4 and seeing the rewards valuable.
I never understood why people dont like recycled content. It makes the content turn over faster. It also reduces costs which allows the game to spend budget elsewhere.
The fact theyre keeping ingame content relevant is great and something the community has asked for on multiple occassions.
Sure it’s good but at the same time let’s be honest, if they realize that it works pretty good then they will do that 24/7 and create less content and probably fire more devs cause they know they can win mor emoney that way
Recycled content isnt bad when its made with logic .
Look at legion m+tw, it sucks, because u either dont have anything there or u have your bis there and u “have to” spam your soul for week cuz its gona be up in half year at best.
DF s1 is also weird . We got new 8 dungeons but we gotta use 4 old ones .
This season tho, apart from weird difficulty levels , its fine we got recycled content cuz it feels a bit new .
As to raid afix, idk what is difference between affix and mechanic.
Just rename it to mechanic and nobody will bat an eye .
We have to suffer trough it in M+ so just fair you have to in Raids as well.
Just look in M+ how “fun” for example Explosive is … how nice it it to be able to do a rotation you supposed to.
Ofc thats how it should have been. One seasonal kiss/curse affix is more than enough.
Now it way out of hand. First the learningcurve to new players are way to high. And too many of these affixes are more annoying than fun.
Examples:
Explosives in all dungeons.
Sanguine in tight spaces.
Quaking in tight places.
Bad camera-angles makes many of these affixes waaaay out of line.
and on and on and on…
The game is built on rotations, then one shouldn’t have something interrupting the rotation every few seconds.
Having all this nonsense moved into raid as well is not good, like the direction of the game is going.
With the amount of time spent to develope open world content, dragon riding, with secrets to find and the expansive nature of season 4.
I think its more likely blizzard are looking at ways to cleverly use recycled content to reduce content design time to be able to open up room to expand other parts of the game.
Espically with things such as opening up proffessions design to be able to craft as far as mythic gear through their new talents trees.
I think shadowlands down fall may have woke blizzard up alittle here.
And i say rhis as a person who will still say if DF turns out bad, if changes in beta look dubious to repeat the identical behaviour. Mass quit the game.
