Raid "Arcade" mode

I’ve been reading into how Torghast works, and thinking about where else you could add absurd scaling stuff. All focused on how inconsequential it should be to the normal progression of the game, to keep balance while adding a fun new way to run through the raids.

I think blizz could do an “arcade” mode for raids, where you can find chests all over the place by mobs you would usually skip. They give crazy buffs to make the gameplay a lot more chaotic, and also with their “kiss curse” idea, bump up mobs and add mechanics as your raid passes certain buff thresholds. Maybe a warrior opens a chest and gets a scroll of “Greaterer Pyroblast”, allowing them to throw 3 nukes at some trash packs. Or a demon hunter gets a buff that lets them stun bosses, but drastically increases the cooldown of the stun. A BM hunter with 5 Giant Bears doing their dps.

Maybe they could even do crazy stuff with bosses, make mechanics happen more often, make mechanics behave in bizarre ways, spawn 2 bosses? 3? Spawn a boss where a trash pack should be? Get your instance invaded, dark souls style, by the bloodthirsty spirit of Broxigar looking for a good fight?

Obviously you don’t want this to interfere with the classic style of raid progression, so it would be something they drop in on a x.x.5 patch, once the world firsts, hall of fame and general playerbase progression is “finished”.

It could even be queueable, like lfr, with how crazy and inconsequential the idea is. Clearable with 5 people who know what they’re doing.

Capping out at normal or heroic loot, just a fun fiesta/ultra rapid fire/brawlstyle romp, to send out a raid that’s going to go on the backburner for the rest of it’s days with a massive bang.

I like the idea. It sounds really cool and fresh!
