apparently I’m still not trustworthy despite being a customer for over 25 years.

You should put 2FA on your account regardless

But still let keento have all the gold

I was also against the authentificator for a long time because of principle reasons, but it’s really not that big of a deal and you should consider getting one.

You can list, you just can’t personalise the listing.

This measure was brought in to help reduce the amount of spam listings we get in LFG.

The effort of setting up a 2FA…

If you are a trustworthy customer for over 25 years… you probably should be inclined to use 2FA on your account for security reasons.

But I’ve been playing for 25 years and I was never hacked, Banana!

You might have been lucky, the cyber security breaches are getting more and more sophisticated. I guess you wouldn’t like to be locked out of your favorite game. A really small step for additional security takes less, than logging in and posting about it in the forums.

I dont have a phone and have good reasons to keep it that way. Setting up 2FA without phone is not possible. This thread isnt about account security either, its about the methods in place to enforce 2FA.

Feels like a second class customer to me not being able to fully participate in the multiplayer aspect, hence my strong reaction.

It is a bit stupid to ask for mobile number when things like Google authenticator and Microsoft authenticators are available .if security is the only concern of blizzard .

You don’t need a phone for 2FA.

You can use a yubikey (hardware passkey) or something like 1Password to generate a Passkey and use that for your battle.net account.

It’s a recent feature, but it’s doable.

Yes but that doesnot count for features that are locked behind mobile phone requirements.

I had to change 5 mobile operators just to get a mobile number that worked for blizzard stupid system

Oh wow.

Personally never had any issues with it, but that’s just beyond stupid.

Exactly this . There are many 2FAs out there that don’t require a phone number . Especially the Microsoft Authenticator , considering blizzard is now part of Microsoft .
Not only is it easier , but also cheaper for blizz , because they wont need to pay phone fees .

At this point it just looks like they just want to gather phone numbers really .
Microsoft Authenticator needs to happen yesterday .
