Raid music

I just have done Dragon Soul again, and got some thoughts how bad is raid music and combat music in most of situations in wow. Most of those sound tracks don’t show the dynamics of the fight and are really slow and boring after few times. This music is often pompous and serious, and although it reflects a good mood before the fight begins, it does not make the game more pleasant and does not keep up with the action.

Do some one else have thoughts like me?

I don’t think I’ve ever had music on in raids, it’s usually a time for concentration. However maybe I should have it on if I run old content.

It is time for concentration but wow music don’t help with this. I had play some time event games, arcade games and rpg that have better balanced battle music that give feeling of danger and you can fight in music rythm.

I turned off music a long time ago in WoW because I find it distracting. Maybe I’m missing out?

Is there some addon that turns off music automatically when in a group?

Not that I’m aware of but the keyboard shortcut (unless you’ve changed keybinds): Ctrl + M is a quick way to toggle music on and off.

Good.

I disagree with you entirely. I’ve seen the kind of battle music change in FF videos, and consider it a terrible idea, and I would hate that.

I support the existing structure of music placement in instances.

You are doing ICC Lich King boss and you have this music in background https://youtu.be/9nb3K8MHIt0?t=224
It dotatly don’t work when we are fighting. It is really good if you explore location but not when player is fighting.
Most close with music in my opinion is Castle Nathria whe we fight againts council.

I understand what you’re saying; I just disagree entirely.

It would feel jarring, inconsistent, and artificial to change the ambiance of the location.

I understand the impulse: it’s making a game out of the world. I don’t like any part of it.

hey now you take that back the dragonsoul music is a timeless classic

It is not good when you Enter combat.

i love hearing wow music while in combat tbh

In casual open world combat it’s fine, but in M+ or raids when in voice chat with other people, I get really easily distracted.

Wow musics in general are top notch imo.
Sunwell Kil’jaeden, Trial of the crusader, ICC and now SoD put me directly in the mood

WoW music isn’t designed for combat, it’s designed for atmosphere. For me that’s fine, personally I don’t want dynamic music changes made to make me feel ‘epic’ in boss fights.

There you go.
Also bosses usually say something before a major mechanic, i must also add if you ever notice but some mechanics you can tell what to do because the animation was used in previous raids.

In my personal opinion music is very well used in this game, nothing hits harder than everyone in your raid trying first time start dying, only a few of you left and THAT DRAMATIC BEAT DROPS!
TANKS TOO LOW HP!
HEALERS PANIC EVERWHERE!
DPS PRAYING!

Music is to hit you in the feels not to tell you what to do.

I usually have it on. Can’t say I notice it much but it adds a nice background.

However, the King Rastakhan music really blew me away. Fit the fight perfectly.

You got point it fits. But we shoud have zone music in raids like we currently have and it is perfect for zone and we shoud have battle music to feel when boss phases change.

That music actually does that. That YouTube video obviously can’t communicate that, but the music does change over the 4 phases to fit.

Thats why I said that that soundtrash fit, but in new last raid I don’t have this feeling and in most of old raids.
