Random disconnects

I’ve read a lot of threads about disconnections, but could not find like this.
My problem is that I have random disconnections, but my internet is fine. Here is the screenshot what happens with server connection. It happens once in a few hours. I’m pinging 185.60.112.157.

Unfortunately a pure ping-result doesn’t really show a lot of detail regarding how the connection route looks like - and given said ping to an extent gets automatically delayed/throttled on our firewalls it may not even represent the actual flow of gaming data traffic accurately.

Performing a test via WinMTR in the background while you are playing and keeping it running through periods where disconnections are being encountered would likely give a more reliable representation of what is actually happening on the connection route. Please feel free to post the results right here, if you’d like us to review them.

At the end I got disconnected.
Had to spaced “net”

WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider

It wasn’t fully clear from the post, but from what I understand this test was ended just after the disconnection, with no further data being captured past that point?

If so: the data shows an unusual spike of data packet delay on the hand-over between the local router and the first network node by the ISP, which may indicate a problem just in the process of unfolding. Running the capture further may have shown it in greater detail, but even with whats already recorded I think it’d be time to have a chat with your network company so they can have a look.

What must I tell to my provider? What must they change, or fix?
Anyway, I already asked them to fix something, but they answered that there is continuous connection between my router and their equipment and also there is continuous connection between my router and all other IPs or sites, expect your IP. Their conclusion was, that problem is on your side.
Please, tell what words I must use to force them to fix my problem.

My wife and I are plagued with these random disconnects as well and they never happen for us at the same time. We’re both using ethernet and we can be watching youtube or other things at the same time and those connections continue to work just fine.

Have you guys tried disabling all your addons to see if the issue persists? I wonder if some of these issues might be addon related.

Addons can cause connectivity issues, and if they do it is unfortunately really hard to track them down (would usually not leave traces in most network tests, either).

Regarding the conversation with the ISP: to be quite honest I’d suggest to let the data speak for itself. Sharing the WinMTR results should hopefully be all it takes to spark some genuine interest in what is going on between the local router and their exchange point.

WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider

ive seen somewhere that it might be the cmos battery and the the time on the pc doesnt sync properly with bnet and the router? hence why theres still internet.
i might be wrong?

My issue was an addon behaving badly. I fixed it. So far not a single disconnect today or last night after fixing the issue. I was able to narrow it down pretty easily by just disabling them all and enabling them a few at a time until it started happening again.

Wich was the addon? I am getting disc, but only on the DH, if I login on other chars the connection is stable.

Akkita: any chance those disconnects may occur especially if using certain abilities that include really rapid character movement, e.g. the somersault backwards during Eye Beam?

If so: that may indicate a certain level of packet loss in your connection, which in combination with said quick movement may push the character out of sync with the game server (which in turn indeed triggers a disconnection eventually). Improving the connection stability would then be very useful, especially when using any form of wireless network.

Sorry it was one of my own. I would suggest turning off all addons and playing for a day. Then once you confirm you’re stable, enable them a couple at a time. All it takes is one event to change and all of a sudden the addon is doing something multiple times per second and that will randomly kill your connection to the server hehe.
