Random Idea: Changing the raid difficulty system

Just a random idea thought I’d throw out there and see what savage comments people would have to say about it lol

=========================================================

Scrap the current Raid difficulty system.
Remove LFR.
Replace it with a new difficulty system, inspired by Mythic+ dungeons.

Level 1 of raid can be easy accessible - something people who do LFR would be able to achieve easily.

As the level increases, bosses get their heroic/mythic mechanics.

At max level (equivalent of Mythic difficulty), lock it to 20 players.

Make the item level of gear that drops equivalent to that of Mythic+ dungeons.

So what are you actually doing here?

Are you putting a new label on the tin or are you adding 15 or so new difficulties?

Honestly I don’t understand this system at all. So we will have +7 raid which has a bit of normal and some heroic mechanics? Mythic mechanics start from +10? What happens at +20?

What exactly would be the benefit of this? What problem would it solve? It really just sounds like you are taking the 4 difficulties and turning it into 20 or so, further complicating the system.

lfr is already a complete joke. the people that do lfr do it because they can’t manage anything else, don’t play enough to put the time into anything else or do it so they can literally bot afk while the remaining people clear it for base item gear. adding difficulties doesn’t really do anything, just reduce the playerbase for a tier of content. there’s also huge balance scaling issues when you have such minor + scaling between difficulties. was already an issue with flex raiding and then hc 10+20man raiding back in mop when they tried it. where people would drop or add players to make fights easier.

fragmenting the raid communities even more?
No thanks

Last thing game needs is more raid difficulties, what it needs is 10 man raiding back and realy bad as 20man mythic only is terrible.
