What’s the exact issue? I’m unable to log in today.
It’s not an item on the ground you can pick up, or in the air at character height. You have to hurl yourself off things higher up and only if you are using the extra action ability when pass through the orb will it count. You have no directional control while floating, though if you start heading off into the abyss you can use like a warrior leap ability to get you to the edge back onto Korthia.
It was just a tedious quest to complete.

I would have done the same. Not been to Korthia yet today so haven’t seen it but it looks just like the type of quest I generally ignore. If it involves flying, gliding, jumping, climbing or tight-rope walking I will ignore it. These quests also have clunky mechanics that generally just frustrate and annoy me.
I know I should welcome new and varied game mechanics but they just never work in a fun way unfortunately.

The items you need to “catch” are individual. Even if a player scoops it up right in front of you, it doesn’t disappear for you. I also found that they have a fairly quick respawn rate for orbs you have collected.
I found myself a ledge with a short run to it and kept collecting the same 2-3 orbs.
But the design of this isn’t very well executed in my opinion. Would be better if you at least had some directional control or if the quest-item sort of shot you up in the air. Now you need to jump or find a ledge to jump off of.

Availability wasn’t an issue tbh. There were loads up.
By all means, go and have a look and give it a whirl 
Also lag makes it 10 times more annoying cos of the delay between you jumping off and the slow triggering.

the extra action button is for fast landing, you don’t need to press it to get the item
just find one easy to pick, align yourself with it jump and use the item.
also they respawn quite fast so you can pick the same item more than once.

You just need to be in the air with the wings active, you don’t even need to use the extra action button at all.
the usual. people prefer the braindead “kill 10 mobs” or “click on 8 items” kind of quests. playing the game is a no go for this community. it’s sad because the dev who made it did it with the intention adding some fun for players, to break the boring cycle of grindy quests. and this is how players “thank” him. no wonder devs feel like garbage

This quest is utterly unenjoyable. The only class who have it easy with this quest are DH since they have double jump and Glide.

A bit anoying, untill you notice, they respawn rather quickly and there are bunch of them easly accesible places
Not my favorite daily tho’, but better than any fill the bar quest where the opposing faction’s druids tagging every damn mob in 0-24

You have to use the ittem, the “wings”, DH wings as I saw cencel the effect
Speaking as someone who did the quest with a DH Glide absolutely works. You just have to Glide first and then use the wings once you’re in position, which is easier since you’re essentially slow falling only more controlled, and then use the wings as the wings will cancel the Glide as you said.
I did it but never will again.
There was one good thing - it produced a long conversation in /2 with everyone agreeing for once. Also people saying that, if the wing buff runs out, you plummet to your death. I’m normally the clumsiest of people but managed to avoid dying, so there’s that …
