Is it worth farming the rank 14 gear as the pre patch comes out? Or will i replace it as soon as i done some quests in hellfire?
(For dungoes etc)
That depends entirely on one thing. Do you enjoy classic pvp? If not, no.

Yes it would be a waste of time. You spend weeks to grind a full set. Then level for 1-2 days and it’s replaced.

Let’s rephrase that question:
Would it be a waste of time to spend weeks doing something you don’t want to do, to get something you throw away after 2-3 days?
If the answer to that question is “Yes”, then it’s a waste of time, and you should instead do things you enjoy doing. This is a game after all, its purpose is to have fun

If you want it and can be arsed to grind it, sure. Im getting it for my alt priest because I want to, not because its super good and will be replaced.
Depending on class, the efficiency of the set is either high or low, weapons and the gloves might be intresting, cause for most classes the gloves have an intresting additional effect.
It also ofcourse depends on the rest of your gear.
If your a fast leveler and you reroll a paladin or shaman it might be intresting to do pvp, since its good gear for little time investment.
I wouldnt farm it at this stage. Better to go pug runs and farm AQ/Naxx for some decent gear. If you think about getting some decent gear for TBC questing. ZG/AQ20/MC/BWL gear level gear is more than fine for Outland.
Can’t transmog it unless you have the correct rank.
you can buy it in pre patch without rank 14, just honor and badges(30 or 40)
Get the weapons if you can be arsed, they are on par with outland level 66-68 items. The set however, depends on your class/spec but the set items generally get replaced before level 65. But getting a weapon plus the gloves as mentioned earlier is not going to take a lot of time.
