rare spawns and wm question.

Hello,

I'm on a dead server hunting the Time Lost Proto Drake and was wondering,
if nobody is killing rares in Northrend will the TLPT still spawn?
Or doe the rare's of Northrend actually share a limit as there can only
be 5 (or more) rare's up in Northrend at a time?

And, because I have a discussions with a friend of mine;
If grouped with 2, one has WM on the other off, seeing a rare in Northrend
(or any other place) does not mean that the other one will see it to, right?
Since WM on/off are separate "worlds" so they don't share the same spawns even
if your on the same realm (or is this incorrect?)

TLPD shares spawn timer with vyragosa
if vyragosa is up tlpd wont spawn

1/10 or so times tlpd spawns instead of vyragosa

btw there are no dead servers, there are all f99d up by crz

CRZ doesn't apply to RP servers like DmF (at least that's what I heard).
All other servers use crz.

And I know the shared spawn points but after camping 5h with 4 people
we haven't seen a spawn of him, making me ques there is some truth to the theory
that there can only be a limited amount of rare's up in Northrend at the same time.

On the other hand, with crz, this would be difficult since there are now realm
restrictions anymore except for trading so having X amount of rares would be
an impossible restriction. Then again, I don"t know that much about coding so
that's why i'm asking here :)

As I understand wm on/off are different shards, so totally unrelated.

I remenber talks about having a hardcap on rare spawns of tbc and wrath yes

But as always nobody can say for sure because nobody really knows.
It's all speculation :). But thanks for the info so far, if anyway has something
to add or provide evidence that a hard cap is in place
and hasn't lifted over the years that would be great :D

Time Lost Proto Drake's only condition for spawning is that he shares a spawn timer with Vyragosa. Years back all sorts of myths were raised about his spawn conditions and many of them are just not true.

In my experience of camping Time Lost Proto Drake he will spawn every 2-3 days (if not more, but that's only if you are lucky). When ever you have a Vryagosa spawn you should be safe to leave the zone for like 4-5 hours and take a break. After that, come back and do not leave until another spawn of either Vryagosa or Time Lost Proto Drake.

Also since TLPD can be tagged by party or a group now, consider also checking the group finder for groups that may have found him. He's a lot easier to catch these days due to this.
