Rares and level scaling?

Hey,

So just a quick question. When do rares “stop” levelling? Trying to tame a Spirit beast, so i went to Northrend at 60, and they were always +1 level to me. So thought if i get to 70, maybe they would stop. But then remembered Wrath was originally 70-80, so naturally at 70, they were 71. Now i’m 80 and they’re still +1 level to me. So what level do i need to be, for them to be tameable?

Thank you.

Synopsis: Tameable level = your level + 2 (sometimes)

For all you returning hunters coming back off a break, pay attention. You can now tame beasts higher level than you, on some occasions. Due to the implementation of mob scaling mobs will now appear around your level in zones that aren’t your level. Ie you wander over to the starter zone of another race to tame a rare. And every time you find him, Duskstalker for example. As a level 15 he appeared 17, as 16 he appeared 18 and as 17 he appeared 19. Never could get him to spawn at my level. Well, finally after researching it turned out scaling was implemented and now mobs scale to your level. As a result, the rares keep changing their levels. So, TLDR; is, if the mob is supposed to be your level or lower, and looks higher, try taming anyways. Don’t waste your time killing them to get a lower level respawn and wait days.

Hope this says you some time, headache and confusion."

Thank you! Feel like an idiot lol. Just went and checked and now have Loque’Nahak. So thank you for taking the time to reply. Much appreciated!
