when you hunt rares in undermine they die very fast. Maybe put a 10 sec protection shield on them.
I know some like to kill the S… out of the rares and “laugh inside” when other people dont manage to tag the rare. It might be satisfying for some, but for other frustrating. I would really like that blizzard already now put a 10 sec protectioon shield on the rares. Anyone else?
Blizz changed their approach to rares after 10.1 raid group rare farming was a thing, and they’ve now obv. decided they don’t want players farming them any more. They adjusted rewards accordingly, so now its really just cosmetics and rep and in Undermine some engine parts but they share loot tables so no need to camp or farm, just kill them when they pop up nearby.
This is a problem caused by item level overinflation. The overworld is rewarding Explorer gear (597 at 1/8) from World Quests. “Rare” enemies reward Adventurer if I am not mistaken (610 at 1/8). Weekly lockout overworld tasks reward Veteran (623 at 1/8), and the World Boss rewards 642 if I remember correctly. It is kind of “logical” to assume that this means that Blizzard has designed the overworld to be for players with item level around 600 to 620, but without any enchants or gems or set bonuses from equipment.
Now your average 660 player with full enchants and gems is pumping what, 2x the damage numbers of a 600 character while at the same time being able to ignore all mechanics of those enemies. So if such players appeared at a rare enemy, instead of taking 30 seconds to take down it takes 15.
Today i see monks spending 10 sec or less to burn them down, well i have done same, but still i think it would good to have the rares with more health, faster respawn or a 10 sec shield.
