with all the sharding and crz sh*tshow going on, how do rare spawns work now? in general, but atm im focusing on vanilla, tbc and wotlk rares.
i just killed 4 rares in blasted lands on ghostlands server. i then went to silvermoon server, and NO rares were up.
i’ve been doing rares over the last week occasionaly, and in each zone, theres always been at least 1-2 rares up at once.
so is it pointless looking for rares on multiple servers and just focus on one toon, and move from zone to zone, rather than looking around the same zone all the time.
blizz programs the spawn algorithms, and the rules they follow regarding realms etc. cant they just let us know clearly the rules regarding rares, (and other things in the game) as many things have changed since stuff was first implemented, SUCH as sharding and crz, which have technically broken rare farming.
i would be ok with that. i know others wouldn’t though, with a lot of vanilla rares i think being on 2-6 hour respawns. since the “breaking” of npc scan overlay, i haven’t really looked for rares pre mop, but do you mean once per account or toon? if its once per toon, i doubt that would really change anything because, due to the 2-6+ hour respawn times, i would suggest that most people dont kill a rare more than once a day.
because blizz gives us so little information, and refuses to be transparent with such things as drop chance and spawn time, its not massively worth peoples time camping anything, unless they REALLY want a certain item, or that item is worth a massive amount on the AH.
