Rarest Race/Class Combos In Roleplay

Are there any particular combinations of race and class you don’t see roleplayed too often?

More broadly, are there any particular types of character in general you’d wish to see others play more of?

Obviously, mechagnome monks.

Statistics aside, let’s see more elf folk not double dipped in magic and doing mundane work like metalworking and architecture.

There are a few, such as:
Dwarf (and Gnome) hunters with bows instead of guns. Especially dwarves have some actually nice bow animations.

Also just any hunter using a crossbow, actually. They’re heavily underutilised!

Highborne characters that aren’t mages (I realise the irony of me posting this).

I use a crossbow on my Wildhammer. It works well for him.

Dwarf (both kinds) rogues seem to not exist really. And they’re not just being stealthy.

Really? I feel like it’s 50/50 today, people playing a character with Highborne background but not being a mage in the present. I’ve seen so many Highborne that are priestesses, sentinels, druids, DKs, DHs etc.!

As for what I haven’t seen much of… mechanomes are so rare in general, not sure I’ve ever seen a mechanome priest for example!

Gonna stop you right there, Levey. Let’s not.

E: And yes that’s even with the statistics aside disclaimer :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t see a lot of tauren/hmt mage/warlock characters around, really, ever. They’ve got NPCs added to the game (there’s a HMT mage on the stairs to the lower portal room in Org for example) but finding one in RP, in the wild, is a much more involved hunt!

Maybe I just haven’t met many other Highborne characters lately.

Earthen and mechagnomes are the rarest I think - with good reasons, they have very little going on for them.

What else. Well, some allied races could use a boost: Kul Tirans and nightborne for example!

More crossbows?
Have to make non terrible, not INCREDIBLY niche crossbow models, then >_>

It also wouldn’t hurt to give more races absolutely awesome reload animations like male draenei. That Terminator 2 style twirl is ridiculous in the context of a crossbow but so cool.

Obahar posting as a highmountain priest here because I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone else roll this specific class/race combo. I’m certain I’m not the only one on the server, but I think that Seers were already kind of niche for tauren, and so taking the same concept to an even nicher branch of tauren has gotta put this combo down quite low.

I would’ve also said highmountain warlocks but I imagine those are probably more common than normal tauren 'locks because of how prominent the Bloodtotem/Feltotem storyline was in Highmountain’s quests.

Feel like I’ve never seen an Orc Priest or Mage.

Not sure if Mag’har count but the second you said Orc Mage I thought of Malgruz from Chosen of Draenor so I can at least think of one!

highmountain anything really, ive never seen a highmountain tauren in RP

Hello, it me.

I specifically wanted one of my drac hunters to use an xbow and since this one’s like a throw back to Blackwing-- I am using the dragonheart piercer.

I suppose the least played races and classes combined. Sub Rogue and Sv Hunter are hardly played. Same as HM Tauren and Kul Tirans.

A dwarf priest, probably. I’ve seen maybe one in the past few years of role-play.

There’s a practical reason foe this. Most rp combat takes place in 5-25 yard range, where people can still resd emotes.

Crossbows are perceived as slow to load, so people opt for guns ans bows where you don’t need to emote for slow loading peocesses but you can instead attack every turn.

This is also why swmi automatic, pistol and boltlock guns are so prominent among roleplayers.

As for rare class/race combos? Well, you are looking at one! I think Matowa, Feshessa and Apawi have been the only tauren priests i habe seen about, and Matowa Feshessa and me have been the only shadow priests respectively.

Troll or Orc Mage. Honestly anything non martial in the core Horde races (besides elves).
