Buggy and overtuned mess and decided to ignore the PTR altogether and buffed the encounters by 300% without testing the buff because they didn’t allow enough time for MT to be on the PTR.

Minimal tuning has been done apart from the advertised felbear encounter because that is all they are on the line for and Druids are not solely dependant on legendaries.

Difficulty is fine.
It should give old artifact rewards though

I tried it, check my achievement, I got the Warrior done, Druid done, mage, rogue, I did the twins, I also got the ench shaman done, I refuse to try the Sub rogue one, tried the Holy Priest- Mist Monk, I got 4/6 all I’ve left is the healer and the Marksmanship, Destro Warlock, WW monk one, check my achievement and you’ll see I’ve TRIED and done it, so don’t assume anything before typing, ty luv <3 I had to play a specific class for the sub rogue one, Arm Warrior, with dumb cheese, so it might be easy for others to use dumb enchants but my point is, it ain’t balanced or required “skill” u cheese with trinkets, enchants, sockets etc.

Might not have the achievement on this chracter, but I’ve done it on my other characters, like my druid one, done on Jayicen-Argent Dawn, go ahead do your research if u truly believe I didn’t touch it for then to whine lel

Hmm… we shouldn’t be relying on old consumes and items to be able to stand a chance (heard they are pretty much a must have, or at the very least heavily increase the odds for some specs). If the rest of the TW content can be completed without them, so should this be.

It relies on the class’ base toolkit. If there aren’t too many major reworks, it may be still doable in the future provided you can down it now, this is a good thing.

There’s no way to outgear the challenge like in Legion where you could soak mechs in high end raid gear that you couldn’t in entry level, I was told.

That said, in my challenge of choice (shadow), one has to first pump Karam. Not difficult but… after that, you want to pump Raest asap, keep small adds at bay, when Karam is back up pump him again because he’ll speed up and catch you, kill hands in 10 secs or instagib… quite a lot to handle for the average player and mechanics often appear to collide, making it much more harder to pull off…

…for a single transmog set. If it instead was a mount, it’d be worth the effort in both time, repairs, consumes, gear and whatnot.

One of the posters mentioned multiple difficulties where the lower one awards the mog, higher will be toy or tabard etc. That might be a good idea. It’s as easy as in my case say, deactivate Rune and Hand for “Easy”, only the Rune for “Normal” and all stays like this on “Hard”. Trust me, even Easy mode poses a bit of a challenge, if it was as easy to kite adds while draining the boss with DoTs, most should be able to down it easily after roughly a dozen tries. That’s enough effort for the mog and you can add additional rewards for the full challenge, up to a mount

This means about 5/10.

TL;DR: It will need either some nerfs or more difficulty levels for players to make a progress with a fitting reward for each if we cannot outgear it ourselves as it’s too difficult for the reward it provides right now.
That’s how I played the old CoD’s, Recruit - Regular - Hardened - Veteran (I never managed to fully complete Veteran, just about ~66% in the 2nd game but was 100% on Hardened).

5/10 for me.

I loved mage tower in Legion, did all three monk ones and then levelled a pala to get the Ashbringer skin. I didn’t play much back then so those 4 were all I did, but I loved the concept. I enjoy wiping and then getting better each time until I get it done.

This reiteration for me, although I did enjoy doing the WW one again (once I remembered to cleave the worm, lol), it lacks three things:

1) Time. I hate that it’s up for only 1 month. The extra 2 weeks doesn’t help at all, since it’s Christmas and family time and I won’t log on much at all.

2) The rewards. The only skin I actually liked was the monk one. Sorry, but all the other Tomb of Sageras sets were already ugly (for me) and now it’s just ugly recolors. I have no incentive to do any of the other challenges for the mogs. I don’t play guardian and seeing how hard it seems to be for bear mains, I will not try it. Maybe if I had more time, but, see point 1.

3) No templates. It would be perfect and so easily tuneable if they just used templates. Like in D3 challenge rifts.

If these three points weren’t there it would be a 10/10 for me, because I really do love challenging solo fights, but the way it’s now, it just doesn’t work for me.

5,5/10, could use better tuning overall for all classes. Also sockets etc should be disabled but SL legendaries should work.

Don’t even tried it. Not worth it for this rewards, only if i had druid that i want to play.
For me its 0/10. And i srsly don’t like when devs refresh old stuff that they promissed as exlusive form of content. Shame for them.

0/10.

The idea of putting a unique druid form behind a die and retry boss fight without roguelikes elements (permanent upgrades) was bad imo in Legion and is bad now. Just that would put a cap at 5/10.

Overturning it while removing all borrowed powers makes it worse. On the positive side it just shows 2 things:

  • Blizz inability to scale things correctly
  • Tha borrowed powers are a terrible idea.

10/10 during the later patches of legion when you could use gear as a crutch

1/10 for time walking with templates.

2/10 and 2 just because of their attempt to do something. Overtuned for many specs + rewards are boring and simply not worth the effort. It would be far better if the rewards were weapon recolors instead of these set recolors.

10 It should be fun to do it as holy spec.

Yes I forgot to mention that, I absolutely agree and it’s huge downside. I’d prefer if it was up and down for same amount of time (2 weeks or a month)

I did magetower in Legion for my unique appearances, there’s no way I am going to struggle through 100 pulls for a recoloured transmog

Let’s not kid our self here, the only reason that some people cliques to “the challenge is not for everyone, git gud etc” is because of the felbear. If that hasn’t been in the magetower, those guys wouldn’t give a :poop: if it was as easy as every other timewalking content.

Uhm, I would say 4-5/10.

Scaling

It is the most horrible part of the MT by a landslide.
Whats the point of disabling SL effects, SOME old effects for the sake of “balancing” and them completely overlook an insane amount of consumables, gears, gems, enchants scaling? What’s the point exactly?
Why even bother disabling Taregcosa staff yet let an HFC trinket do 20%of the damage.

Duration

Why everything that does not require time gating is time gated in this game, but everything that would benefit from it was free to grind out, like legion/BFA AP?

This event should be 100% up and people could enjoy it at their own pace, doing idk, 1 challenge every now and then when they had nothing else to do.

Felbear and rewards in general

Oh boy how I hate you for this Blizzard.
The difficulty of the challenge should reward at the very least a unique set, and not a bland recolor of something already in the game.

Start working instead of making the same recolor 5 or 6 times of the same things. Or proposing remakes of the same sets.

Plus Felbear only coming back is a complete punch in the face to everyone of those that had to complete this trashly tuned challenge for a recolored transmog.

People that completed the current MT deserve at the very least a recolored skin of the MT artifact.
At least the old one is unobtainable, unlike the crappy set you gave out.

I disagree with this part.
Let me elaborate.
Let’s distinguish difficult content and extreme content.

Difficult content is something above-average, that average players can reach. It means that maybe currently 25-40% playerbase would be able to do it.
But (!) 80% of playerbase would be able to do it, if they tried very hard. That’s what I call difficult.
For stuff like that, absolutely, reward that with mounts, transmog etc, because it motivates people to try better.

Extreme content is something that possibly only less than 10% of people can do. Maybe top 15% if they push themselves to the limit, but not many more. For such content I believe that it shouldn’t reward mog or mounts. Possibly tabard or achievment.

My reasoning: Mog is stuff that helps you portray your character as you wish. If you want to push hard and try hard to earn reward that helps you, then it’s absolutely fine.
But if the reward is too hard, it just unnecessarily frustrates you and feels like it’s unobtainable.

Difficult content motivates you to get better (for average person).
Extreme content motivates you to quit the game, if you feel like you really want the reward from there (maybe mog you really really want and can’t ever get).

And by no means am I saying extreme content is bad. It’s not. People aspire for it naturally. Some people, that is. But those people don’t do it for the rewards. Rank 1 PvP doesn’t give you any mog, any mount… yet people try to do it. Nor do Mage Tower give you anything special for having bad gear, doing guardian challenge without bear form or not using consumables… yet people do it.

That’s why it’s okay to have extreme content, but it’s bad when it has really good rewards (transmog, mounts). Achievments, Titles and Tabards would however be well-placed reward for it.
And it’s good to have mogs rewarded for difficult content. So everybody can aspire for it.

haven’t tried it yet, but judging from forums it’s 10/10

I simply disagree out of the fact that I hate achievements in general, I find them a really poor reward and not something that really correspond to the effort put it, especially for difficult things.

Also, if the content was permanently up, I don’t think people would be as frustrated, because they would not feel pressured, unlike now when they know they will have to wait months before trying again.

That transmog will always be there waiting for you. I think frustration play in when you are scared of missing it out.
