Alright so, I’m curious as to what you guys think about our community that we’ve built over the time.
So I thought we could do a questionnaire almost, so I would ask for the following:
1 thing that you like/love about the community
1 thing that you dislike/hate about the community
what you would rate this community between 1-10
(1 is abysmal, wouldnt let your friends catch you in here;
10 is incredible, you adore the community and all of its glory)
As an example of what I mean, I’ll go first.
I love how easy it is to have wholesome and positive interactions when you try, really makes a difference in compared to other communities in my eyes.
I dislike how fast people are to try and deplatform another person in debates instead of actually having an informative debate, ruins the point imo
I would give the forum community a solid 8/10, there is toxicity but I find it can be avoided relatively easily with proper steps taken.
So please let me hear you opinion on the matter, I’m really curious as to how you guys view this little space.
Helpful and informative, some folks around here are a fountain of knowledge.
There’s quite a bit of doom and gloom here but this has been around since WoW was released. I feel like we could do with a little less negativity and enjoy the game more.
I will give it a solid 9. I like it here, most days I’m enjoying myself learning and having a good laugh.
I tend to find a lot of reasonable people on the forums. And as far as toxicity (like actual toxicity not just the “I get declined from groups” toxicity) goes I would say that WoW is at the very low end of it.
I like how we have people here that can be funny and silly and engage in fun ways regarding topics and interactions between people. The whole Vulpera stuff and of course the awesome Vulpera forum gang.
Then there’s the forum regulars to have discussions with and stir the place up.
And the usual trolling and baiting.
Overall the community here feels good

Whenever I’ve asked for help there’s always someone willing to give it, and some inject a bit of humour

Threads can turn into stupid ping pong if participants can’t understand that their opinion is relative and counter opinions aren’t necessarily wrong, or when they make sweeping statements and presume to speak for others

Dislike/hate:
The generalization of their own view, to make it seem like “everyone” agrees or shares their opinion. Therefore, the lack of actual arguments is, I guess, a better summary.
(sorry for a second one, but the “your rating is x so you should stay quiet” comments here)
1 thing that you like/love about the community:
That you get to know other players and have interesting conversations, congratulate their achievements etc; also get help/advice for stuff ingame if needed
(plus a huge thumbs up for the many forumers who don’t have English as a first language, yet join in with, in most cases, perfect English.)
1 thing that you dislike/hate about the community:
I dislike that some community members are incapable of having a discussion/debate without insulting other posters either for their views or personally; debate the point that’s being made, not the person who made it.

I’m not a fan of the den of snakes called the GD chat room. But I won’t elobrate any further, I just think the forum would be better off without any and all non-WoW related topics. But all the forum drama over the years has sullied my view on the community hence my average rating.
