Rate TWW from 1-10 and explain why. ( Optional compare it to other expaxcs)

I personally give 5/10 to TWW.

1- Boring and bland story.
2- Delves are failure.
3- Some of the dungeons are revamped( we pay for new content not for old) and even revamped badly…
4- The raid is … Annoying… too many phases too many mechanics which closes it to a job and not fun.

Personally i even liked Shadowlands more than this crap.

8/10
Pros

  1. Class and spec gameplay is crisp.
  2. M+ are challenging and a source of satisfaction when you succeed.
  3. Gearing system offers the option to gradually progress your power level.
  4. Profession system offers an interesting way to play the money game on the wider WoW ecosystem.
  5. Visuals and Audio are very good.
  6. The opening raid is solid to progress through.
  7. Delves have the potential to be a very interesting system.
  8. Game balance is very close to being good few fewer outliers than ever before.

Cons:

  1. No interesting, inspiring male characters.
  2. Narrative team is unskilled at fascilitating meaningful bonds between our character and NPCs and between NPCs.
  3. Narrative is bad at delivering exposition and at conveying emotional states of characters.
  4. Mythic + and Raid are extremely difficult when played without addons - Blizz devs design the challenging content with the assumption players use addons which is bad for the game as it creates arms race scenario.
  5. Mythic plus system is designed so that it actively discourages from playing with people you dont know well due to how severe the punishment for failing an M+ key is. And Blizzard refuses to change that.
  6. There is only 1 class that can offer specializations with tank and ranged DPS playstyle.
  7. Blizzard offloads way too much QoL features to addons and weakauras.
  8. The launch state of AH and the disappearing Guild Bank issueshuniliate Blizzard as a service provider.

It’s too early to say, but right now I feel like the launch honeymoon period has ended and we’re in a bit of a mini content lull as we await the anniversary event and the announcement of 11.1.

I’d rate phase 1 of TWW a solid 7. Interesting story, great transmog, pretty zones, fantastic music, good features, and so on.

What keeps it from being amazing (so far) is a feeling of sameyness between the zones. I don’t particularly love any of the zones: Hallowfall feels less “outside” than I had hoped, The Isle of Dorn has beauty but feels a bit like an abandoned quarry. There’s not enough forest, rivers, and lakes for my taste. The Ringing Deeps is too much like Zaralek Cavern, and the whole “pockets of beauty around the cenotes” didn’t really materialise in my view. Azj-Kahet is richly detailed but I’ve never appreciated the “dark, gloomy endgame zone” aesthetic.

I think there’s a lot of potential in the patch content though. If we get some inverted Emerald Dream type of zone around the roots of Elun’Ahir, and perhaps a cool Titan-inspired raid near the Worldsoul, that’d be awesome.

But I have to admit, I will likely feel a lot more optimistic once they’ve given us the details on Midnight, which should happen in the spring sometime.

I won’t rate a newborn, give it time to grow up.

4/10

It’s Dragonflight Season 5. It doesn’t try to be more than that. It lacks ambition.
The story is inoffensive at best, and nonsensical at worst.
The gameplay loop is overly familiar and the sense of progression and reward is robotic and drip-fed on a schedule.
A lot of the game’s more fundamental systems and designs are in an increasing state of disrepair and in serious need of some tender, love, and care from the developers.
It’s still recognizable as World of Warcraft with an easy approachability, which is good.

If it follows Dragonflight’s evolution – and there’s no reason to assume it won’t – then the patches will add more of the same, and the general community sentiment of the expansion will be that it’s decent and okay, but not something that’s going to contend for Game of the Year. And players will quickly move their focus and hype to the next expansion and hope it’ll be the one to elevate World of Warcraft and bring about a renaissance. Wishful thinking.

How are they a failure?
I see many people in delves…
