I am getting frustrated then when you’re being put in a team with people who keep dying in solo shuffles and you lose rating because of those people whilst you survive each round!
I’m getting frustrated because you lose rating because people in your team are 1000 points behind you and aren’t even geared as high as you are.
Blizzard should think about
If you die…
-10rating
If you survive +5 rating
Most rounds won +100 rating.
or something along those lines so we don’t lose any rating because of people who are either trolling in rated arena’s or that you don’t lose rating because people can’t play.
That is a terrible idea for the simple fact that not all kill targets are equal. If we just look at statistics Elemental Shamans has a 63.9% first blood rate in the matches they´re in while DH´s has a 28.7%. Is that because all DH players are just gods n knows how to play the game or is it because Elemental shamans has weak defensive CD´s and are the kill target in like every single lobby they´re in n DH´s are so passively tanky that no one even bothers with them?
We can also look at DK sitting at 19.2% first blood rate. Since i play DK myself that is of course entirely down to the fact that DK players are fantastic and dont make nooby mistakes unlike all other classes!
In short, “i dident die, it was my teammates fault eventhough i was ignored the entire match and dident do anything to help my ele shaman getting pummeled into the dirt by double melees while i was running after trying to solo the resto druid behind the pillar” isnt a valid argument.
Some PvP games have post-game statistics where your own performance gets highlighted.
You did x% more healing in this game than your average for the week! You did x amount of dps, which is among the top 10% for your spec on this map! You didn’t die for the 18th round in a row! New record!
Stuff like that. It helps give players a sense of individual progress and skill and accomplishment, even if they still lose a game.
It prevents the experience from being completely binary. Win: Yay I’m awesome! Loss: This game sucks!
And of course there’s opportunity to tie some rewards to those individual performances. Small goodie-bags or such so you don’t come out of a lost game with nothing to show for it except frustration and annoyance.
It’s something I’ve long wished Blizzard would try to improve about the PvP experience – to make it less unforgiving if you lose and more rewarding if you’re doing good as an individual.
If in general you survive each round, but lose, this means you are often useless to your team. The enemy can mostly ignore you and kill one of your partners.
According to your logic tanks in solo would be kings, as people just ignore them and kill somebody else, but yeah - “I didn’t die, so I must have played well”.
Instead of coming up with such “schemes” of rating adjustment, you should instead focus on getting better and using your utility to the benefit of your team.
Some of them really die because they are stupid but sometimes surviving alone means nothing. Could you peel properly, cc properly, pressure properly while not being under pressure as a 3rd?
While I was experimenting with DK builds some of my builds were extremely useless but I was too tanky to die. People just completely ignored me but my teammates died. I did not create a topic like this because of it because I knew I wasn’t strong/good enough to impact the outcome with those builds/playstyle.
doesnt matter at all what class you play or dont play. Fact still stands, not all classes has equal survival n some classes are more prone to getting tunneled than others. Solo shuffle is literarelly about playing the cards you´re given n finding a way to enable it. If im paired with a destro lock for example n run around solo chasing a resto druid behind a pillar while my destro lock has an arms warrior and DH tunneling him, me not dying is not a feat but rather in that scenario im practically griefing as i should try to take preasure off of my warlock so i can enable him which DK´s are very good at with double grip n chains of ice i can create room for my lock n not doing so n him dying because of it is not him playing poorly, its me being utterly useless.
