I bought the expac and fancied trying out a rp server.
Ravenholdt says its High Pop.
What is this based on? there is like 26 people in SW around 2 are on ravenholdt?
how is that high pop?

Realm population does not tell you what faction these dudes are playing…
Kazzak is high pop for example, but it’s almost exclusively Horde. Maybe the same is true of Ravenholdt?
I’ve heard Argent Dawn is the most populous Alliance RP server.
checked realmpop site its actually about even
i guess that everyone is playing classic and hopefully will return after a while but im now stuck with a character i really would like to play but with no one to play with
Same with many, for some reason those population statuses are completely false.
For example Defias Brotherhood, where my highest ilvl character is, is empty compared to what it was in legion/bfa launch. Do /who and there was like 30 people in orgrimmar, thank god for cross realm tools.
More in dazar’alor but it shows all connected, without them very low. (And dazar’alor is AWFUL city)

thats why this is annoying. maybe early bfa they were true but not right now
if the realm chooser would have matched the actual population, i would have chosen differently

Argent Dawn must be having another event, whenever ADs servers overflow, all the other roleplay realms get the overflow.
the day after the Saurfang cinematic, TheSha’Tar was full of AD folks, standing outside the gates of Orgramar, recreating the events of the cinematic.
They even went around the city, chasing down forsaken players (i was only lvl 63 at the time on my forsaken, so i watched from the battlements and then got the heck outa there lol cause my forsaken was not there ‘in character’ as the saying goes)
there were so many players that the servers couldnt handle the load and spread them out over not only the other RP realms but even over the phases. you could see them complaining in chat, that folks were vanishing befor their eyes who were still in the area.
if you feel the world is dead, just make friends with someone in the AD forum and party with them till you get the feel for it. not sure about how the rule goes for not being able to roll new character there on Argent Dawn tho. but so long as you got friendlies on AD that are online they can party you over there for roleplay.
Its based on number of characters created on realm compared to highest realm. Realm status have nothing to do with players activity.
Argent Dawn is the popular Alliance RP server, and despite being 70 Alliance to 30 Horde (%), it is also the popular Horde RP server.
Defias Brotherhood is 50/50.
As for the rest of the RP servers… all of them are Alliance > Horde, but they’re pretty dead, unfortunately.
But there is still hope for the rest after all, as they said they’ll ‘‘look into it’’ regarding dead servers.
Ravenholdt is part of a group of connected realms - Defias Brotherhood, Ravenholdt, Scarshield Legion, Sporeggar & The Venture Co. They act like one realm as everything is shared - you can join guilds in any of them, AH is shared etc.
