RBG elo hell, do you think it is possible? Help

On this char, as you can see, i lost 73% of all rbgs i did

Dosent matter if im in a low geared pug, or high gear with guildies and on voice.

Do you think it is possible to be in elo hell? Sure, i still have a low number of rbgs played but if things keep this way for longer then, after 200 or so games i think i can take that conclusion.

Im no glad player at all but im decent i know how to BoS and use my cds etc.

Its very hard to understand how the enemy team always have the best plays, we are all in the same LFG channel (as almsot everyone in this rating play in pugs) so it should be around 50% winrate.

Also in 2’s i have like 53% win rate with almost 200 games played and im still on 1.2k cr. Shouldnt i be in higher ranking? It seems it barely moves up. Most high rated players have around that win rate, does that means they did like 10000 matches?

If you reading this post plz say something im starting to get disapointed but i wont give up.

I have a resto shammy alt and i got to 1.4 or 1.5k cr in RBG in a weekend in pugs with a bit higher then 50% win rate

To be honest, before going RBG you have to spam a lot of random battlegrounds ( not Epic).
With that you start to have a idea how work battleground with the actual extension.

Then after being PvP geared, the 1st thing to do is if you need winrate is to make your own group.
Remember that if you always join other group, you will always suffer from leader mistake, those mistake is decisive upon the RBG :

  • Right comp composition : So that mean if you don’t get at least 1 rogue / 1 priest heal / 1 guardian druid / 1 warlock, the chance to lose the game is hight. And it’s even more true even garantee lose RBG if you don’t have a rogue that don’t know how to ninjacap.
  • Strat : So many people at low rating have no clue about strat, they are like PvE : you have to tell them everything ( target calling who to focus etc, rogue go to X base to ninjacap, rogue go help defend 2 base on gilneas with the tank, design role for healer who stay with tank etc…).
Clearly that make you win so easely at low cr since in front they can often yolo RBG
  • Voice tchat : Clearly anyone in 2021 who don’t go in voice tchat is someone you know that gonna fail the game. You don’t have time in RBG to write something, you need your keyboard to do action and not being afk.
  • Gear : at low cr, it’s 195 obvious minimum, that mean with legendary + full upgraded honor gear. Remember that Shadowland gear play a lot, taking 183 ilevel people is a mistake since they gonna be 1shot or they will not be able to deal damage and not able to be usefull in any case. You need geared people. You can set when creating group ilevel required : 195 and it gonna be better.
  • Experience : It’s important when you create group to take people with experience. You don’t get any experience ? That where you come in : you will take people with experience ( arena / RBG / honorable kills) and thank for your strat and target calling, their experience will be used for winning teamfight ( so like you are focusing a Mistweaver monk, a warlock with experience will fear DPS or Healer in order to help securing the monk, or an another example a healer with eperience know where he can go out of the fight to take a drink while his other healer is maintaining the group etc…)
Experience is the behavior that people gonna get outside of the leader calling in order to win. It not denyable and very important to check his experience in arena / RBG / honorable kills in order to trust that player about if he’s ready to do ranked PvP battlegrounds.

With all of that you see how much a leader is important, even if it’s 10 v 10, at low CR when you kill the ennemy leader ( often he got the crown for creating group) you see their team getting no clue what to do and it’s a win teamfight.
I garantee you with all of that, that after creating your own group with all above taken in consideration, you avoid elo hell category of people.

Also don’t hesitate to use addon, for calling incs and to know how to get information to make decision as RBG leader :

  • REporter : call number of incs just by buttons, and see who in the map is on combat, where is your healer and about the situation of the battlegrouds. Just with that addon i can know without someone tell me which base need help to be defended etc.
  • Battlegrounds Ennemies : Mandatory addons that show ennemies team list, who on your team is targeting the target, which health are they remaining, are they in diminish return for a stun ( extremy important if you are target calling like a hunter, you stun him and kill him in a burst switch and he can’t turtle) , wich player have their trinket up etc. Also really great to find rogue or ennemy player in the map : spam click their name and at the moment you clicked on them you see their bar showing up. Really usefull mostly whne you got a DH tank to know where is their rogue ( important info, since a rogue can ninjacap, you can totally deny a ninjacap and getting a great defense ).
  • Capping : show timer when the base will be capped and if you are winning or not and when.

I see with 27% winrate you are determined, but if you create group yourself, making your own strategies on each battlegrounds about your composition what you need ( example do i need a warlock for gateway ? Do i take double rogue or i take 1 rogue and when he will ninjacap he ghost his base ? Many question to answer, you can get some info on youtube RBG videos at hight mmr and about what a warlock is able to do and why he’s important etc).

Don’t compare yourself with top player, top player play with top player.
Look upon their guide, tier list and how they play.
ANd then, make your own strat, along you gonna be in voice tchat, some highter experimented player will not spit on you because you tryed to lead, and it’s a great way to be recognize when we start with low experience so they can give you tips and help you to win RBG.

And also, don’t focus on lost game but focus on why you lost it, what could have been made better etc.

For example i lost a game with my rogue i started recently, i got no experience as rogue. we were on gilneas and my team got 2 base : ( WW/ LH). I have been greedy and tryed to ninjacap mine, but they got a tank but i wasn’t aware the rogue was waiting for me in defense. So i died and have to respawn and their tank still have their trinket up. Meanwhile their rogue was in teamfight at WW after killing me, and my team lost WW, and their rogue came back defend mine , blocking me to ninjacap and we lost the game on that.

The next day i understood that i have to be aware that in the meta of shadowland rogue can help double defend, so i have done the same thing that the rogue experimented i met the last day : i defended his ninjacap and then helped with CC my team on teamfight, then we have won WW and able to maintain 2 bases.
Their rogue under pressure gonn try to cap LH but i know that i have done the same thing the last day so i gonna prevent him again.
And we won the game like that.
That how we learn : if you lead you have to see where you have failed compared to the ennemy team : Do their healer maintained a fight and was able to drink until your healer was out of mana ? if i got a balance druid , should i had it to send with the rogue to help him ninjacapping ?

Those question come with experience while leading and watching RBG guide on youtube.

And trust me you will never have to be worried about Elo Hell , but making your own group everytime and making all i have said above :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself

So don’t look upon your rating, look how to win :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

if you don’t know what is a ninjacap , here is a videos  :

Why this decent players, doesn’t have any enchant on weapon, rings e.t.c. No legy, low even casual BG expirience. This is LFG players problems, they think they are SO GOOD, and its not their own fault in many situation. And want to play with much better players.
Hope they will add yolo q option, this clowns fiesta makes me mad.

Win ratio is irrelevant. It only matters who you win or lose against.

You win / lose 50% against 1200 rated players…so youre 1200 rated.

I win / lose 50% of my games vs 1960ish rated players …so im 1960 rated.

Winning 50% means you play at the MMR you belong at.

A 2400 rated player that wins 50% at 2400…would win 100% at your rating. You would win 0% at 2400 MMR. So no, you dont deserve the same rating as a 2400 player that has the same win ratio as you have.

Thanks man, thats the best reply i ever received in an online forum

if i didnt played vs 214 geared ppl i would rly belive i belong to 1.2k cr

Most items you have are honor upgrades (197 ilvl)

No enchants

Second, you gotta be smart when you are looking for group.

People cant climb because they are impatient, they join first group they stumble upon.

Join group, inspect people, check out if they have proper builds or if group has proper setup at all.

I left so many groups even with people being 1700+

Because team comp wasn’t good at all.

What good is group if they have 3 dh’s?Even if they are 1700 rated or more, doesn’t matter.

You gotta play meta if you want to progress in rbg’s.

With mele cleave we won 11 games and lost 1.Lost to 2400 geared people boosting 2 randoms.Vs equally geared groups (210-215 ilvl) we won every game,no matter what setup they had.

Before i found mele cleave group i was looking for standard setup

Hpala/Dpriest,/Rshaman,2 boomkins,rogue,warrior,frost dk,affli lock and tank DH.

Since most groups have similar setup, game is going to be decided based on your skill, until you face boosters, but there’s not many of them.Out of 49 games i played,i ran into 4 boosting teams in total.

Also, sometimes you get lucky, and sometimes opponents get lucky.

What’s important is not to give up.Even if it takes 1000 games to get where you want to be,you keep playing and pushing.

But you also have to be smart like i said, finding proper team comp. You can’t have 3 warriors or 3 rogues or 3 dpriests on your team.

Try gearing up a bit in mythic as well, lots of items give versatility, get at least full unranked and try to get 1400 rating in arenas for that 207 ilvl gear.

ty mate.
How many weeks til a torghast dungeons comes back? my best lego drops there and was up last week.

Heya. You can get any legendary in Torghast : Twisting Corridors.

Just find where your lege drops,go to Twisting Corridors portal, and select level your lege drops from and enjoy.

My suggestion is to go with group, because doing 18 floors solo is exhausting if not geared.

thanks will defenitly do that.
Sry for asking but is there any requirements for entering twitsing corridors? cuz last time i was there i dont remember that being an option to join.
Im ilvl 201(armory probably not updated) with a 207 ilvl weapon as retri do you think it is managable solo?

You need to gets wins in a row to get higher mmr and more points when you win,if you lose against a team that is worse than you in mmr/cr ,you will lose a lot of points.

so secret is win against good players in a row and youll see your cr go up.
with higher mmr you will lose less points when you lose and win more when you win.
