George, for those who do not know, is the lead singer of death metal band Cannibal Corpse. They’re regular festival headliners and have a lot of respect in the metal scene.
He is also a HUGE fan of WoW and is one of WoW’s oldest celebrity supporters.
George and his band are also regarded as some of the nicest people in metal and George himself regularly donates to childrens orphanages with toys etc he obtains out on your.
Yes, he said some things about Night Elves and Gnomes etc and used a slur (who honestly cares) and his music subject matter and album covers are incredibly violent but again, who cares, it’s art.
At least cannibal corpse albums are complete and have some conviction into what they want their art to portray to the world. Blizzard however can not maintain even the slightest bit of integrity in their art.
I don’t know what rainbow haired intern heard ‘I c*m blood’ and needed the week off for trauma but there are a lot of people in California completely out of touch with reality and are living in a manufactured dreamworld of their own making.
Removing Corpsegrinder isn’t going to undo anything Blizzard. It’s not going to make your garbage story written by some marvel obsessed boomers any better and it isnt going to make the game designed by some diversity hire on McDonalds wages any better either.
All you’re doing is alienating the playerbase further and further.
I hope you lose a hundred thousand more subscribers.
I thought Blizz had lost their minds a while back. Now its like the thought police are running around giving anyone who doesn’t agree with the hive lobotomies.
From wowhead “epitomizing the faction divide between the Alliance and Horde in a bombastic and insensitive way”
Or put another way, you can murder each other, and storylines where cities are genocided are fine but don’t say mean things or swear?
People like the above reply makes me just want a time a machine, early 2000s. No one gave a **** about literally anything when it comes to culture or context. You just went along great with each other without throwing a constant hissy fit over anything with culture or skin or references.
I spent many years of my youth in that state. I defended any cause in truth. But this is years ago now and my indignated rage has ebbed out. Now I am but a husk of my former self.
I never cared for the guy, nor his genre of music, and I found the interview to be in poor taste, even if he was speaking in character.
I still couldn’t care less that there was a reference to him in-game. Just because I had no interest in it doesn’t mean nobody else did.
That’s something those SJW trash “developers” they hired now (and some people on these forums) need to get through to their skulls. You can’t have everything YOU want, plenty of nonsense you people want in the game is what others don’t want as well; you compromise.
There’d be no one left.
Simple: ignore the outrage, compromise. Don’t pick sides. No matter what kind of reference they add to the game, there’s going to be people for and against it. Right now, they’re picking sides, completely alienating some - if not the majority, based on the extent at which they’re removing/changing stuff - of their customers.
You are still incapable of writing a sentence that makes any sense. It’s like you pulled your message through google translate, then translated that to a different language, then back to English, and repeated that 5 times.
Seriously dude, go to school, learn how to speak and come back. Nobody understands you, and you don’t understand other people. I’m AGAINST them removing the reference, you dolt.
Besides their gun laws being a bit nonsensical (though relatively benign since they’ve also made plenty of course correction), I don’t see what’s so awful about their state laws.
Biggest issue afaik there right now are forest fires, and that’s really not something you can solve with state policy, since it’s caused by climate change.
