Real talk about implementing titanforge-caps

You’re seriously only looking at what’s best for NEW PLAYERS who play WoW, because they are the NEW people you can earn money from. Screw the veterans who are experienced in the game. Make it possible for a player to achieve mythic Uldir gear by simply running <normal Uldir content.

Is it possible to 100% fix this issue? Probably not, but 2 great steps in the right direction are:

  1. Ban people who buy and sell boosts. The game becomes pay to win. Basically, a player who can’t play the game, can simply pay gold(i.e. buy a wow token for real money since he doesn’t have 150-300k gold or whatever people charge for boosts) to be carried through the challenging and content that rewards people with a sense of accomplishment. That boost-buyer then gets a good R-io score (cuz that’s what people are looking at today) as well as ahead of the curve/mythic uldir achivements, “proving” that he’s defeated the challenging content and is therefore capable of doing it again, but with other players. But wait a minute. He paid so he could sit afk through that. All he’s achieved is a way to get boosted again, BUT FOR FREE(whilst screwing it up for 4 good players i.e. griefing).

  2. Put a cap on how high gear can titanforge. With raiding it’s super easy, just put LFR cap to normal uldir, normal uldir to hc etc. With mythic+ it can be slightly more difficult but you should have a good idea on what mythic+ lvl can be compared to normal uldir, etc, and then just go from there(with minor tweeks to 2 and 3-chest.

Banning boosters will only get rid of the symptoms, but not the underlying problems. If you want to fix the problem you need to understand why it happens in the first place. Why do people buy and sell raid boosts? A lot of top end guilds sell boosts because progression raiding is ridiculously expensive. We’re talking hundreds of thousands of gold each week on consumables and repair bills. This means guilds either need to spend hours farming mats, or sell boosts. Is it any wonder guilds choose the boosting option?

If raiding rewarded more gold or consumables, guilds would be less likely to sell boosts.

So why do people buy boosts? Sometimes they just want to see the content or get the achievement for bragging rights and that’s it. However, a lot of the time it’s because players are stuck and don’t know how to progress without buying a boost. This is due to the game throwing gear at players for doing very easy content and then pushing them into content that they aren’t prepared for or skilled enough to do, despite having the gear for it.

Fix the way gear is given out at max level and you’ll reduce the amount of people buying boosts.

Is “REAL TALK” some kind of code for bad ideas?

Before the intellectual “hurr durr you don’t like my idea u must boosts” comment. No, I don’t.

Exactly what is your point with the comment? To make no sense at all cuz that is everything you’re achieving atm.

Isn’t it strange tho how people aren’t punished for selling boosts or scamming people, yet these “top end guilds” have to create lvl 1 characters and run to the capital city to sell boosts in trade chat. Oh ye, right. If you actually decide to whisper one of the boost sellers, you’ll get an automatic bot answer who tells you to contact some dude on Discord where you can discuss prices etc.

It’s actually not that expensive to progress mythic, so why do these “top end guild” players have to create bots who sell the boosts? What are they afraid of? Getting banned? Just sit on your main and sell the boost. That way people can actually check your guild progress and know if you truly are “8/8”
(BTW, why would you need to sell boosts to get gold if you’re already 8/8? You got plenty of time to farm mats before the next raid is released)

Anyways, it’s cool that Blizzard is completely ignoring the EU forums so they can’t fix the issues that exist. Why even create a code of conduct if people aren’t punished for breaking it.

Ok, good, this was real talk.

People are not being punished for selling, because blizz are perfectly fine with this. They ruined ingame economy. There is no other way to achive gold. You either grind resourses or legally buy gold from blizz for real money. I dont want to pay more real money than monthly subscribtion. And I dont want to spend weeks of real time by grinding resources, cause I got real life with real work, and its not good when u fell like u got 2nd job ingame. When I say weeks, im not kidding. To progress raid like Uldir it takes about 15-20kk gold. So people sell boosts to gain gold for the next raid and again and again and again.
It wouldnt be that bad if there was some loot in there that I can sell. Like this blood cells. But more to that I cant even sell gear that I crafted with this blood cells. So zero income in gold from raiding.
And again, blizz are perfectly fine with that economy system, cause there is more people who buy gold for real money (through the token).
