Realm Population

Hey everyone, First of all i want to apologize for my English but i will try my best to explain what i want to know.

Is there any way to check how many active players are on realms?

I am currently playing on Mirage Raceway (Ali) and i’ve been thinking about transfering to Pyrewood village.

I saw somewhere that MR has around 6k characters and PV has around 8k in total but these are probably just created characters.

I would like to check if there is more players per day than on the other one, because sometimes it feels a bit “dead” on MR when iam trying to group up for dungeons (in Outland and also on Azeroth) etc.

I Hope that this makes sense, Have a great day <3

Ironforge.pro is commonly used. Although it only shows active players that have appeared in warcraft logs and PVP leaderboards.

Gives a rough idea of player activity though, especially if you are looking to raid or PvP.

I’ll try to check it, Thank you.

Out of all the EU English servers, only Firemaw and Pyrewood Village have more Alliance population than Mirage Raceway. (Earthshaker has about the same Alliance pop, but 0 Horde).
If your realm feels “a little bit dead” as a third most populous realm there is, then Elune help us all :astonished:

I mean, Its not that “dead” you can see alot ppl during day at SW etc. But when youre looking for group it takes almost hours for me  , And lfg chat is full of boosters…

While I technically would disagree with ironforge.pro being useful for a more direct indication of how many active players a server has (for various reasons, for example that casual guilds running Karazhan probably doesn’t use warcraft logs all that often).

On the other hand, I think that ironfore.pro is an excellent tool for a very rough estimation of comparing relative populations across servers, and for gauging/estimating if there’s any trend in the server’s active population (but if you engage in this, look back at at the very least 3-4 weeks, not just a single week here and there because it’s very likely that the number might fluctuate a little bit from week to week while the overall trend still is stable). At least it’s the best we’ve got, and I encourage people to look at it before screaming in panic about server death.

What people usually considers to be “server death” is the lack of content and the lack of any real incentive to do much of any group activity outside of guilds (in part also because there is little to no reason to run any dungeon in normal or heroic at max level for anything but fresh level 70 alts, and even at that Karazhan is much more rewarding in terms of time spent for getting loot drops that most of the time is better than anything from any heroic dungeon).

But yeah, if you’re looking to reroll or transfer, ironforge.pro could absolutely be used as a good indication of the ability to be able to join a raiding guild when comparing it to your original server as a baseline.

The problematization we didnt ask for, but that we got.

More Raiders/PVPers > More Guilds > More active people > More social “networks” (e.g friends, family, fanboys) > More casuals > More Alts > More characters > More activity.
Always was, always will be. Not a coincidence that servers with one or more “big” guilds always had somewhat of a healthy population.

The idea of a megaserver with 10 000 active casuals playing Karazhan without logging under our radar is highly unlikely to a point that its not even a factor. If this is a trend on one server, its highly likely a trend on most servers, which renders the factor useless.

TL;DR:

Pretty much what the first reply said.

Hmm? There is absolutely a point in disregarding ironforge.pro for counting the number of active level 70 players due to this. That’s a strong downside to the site. Though as already mentioned, ironforge.pro is useful for comparative estimates.

I’d play Gehenas horde or firemaw (either faction or pyrewood alliance) because its where only highest activity available even tbc is already dead. and full of bots. because blizzard does not ban them I will not report the bots and let them carry on but I went way off topic there.

Season of mastery went well for me but I am more worried at same time that it is going to be same min maxing community of elitists compared to pokemon community (I mean smogon the toxic pokemon community)

Also more worried it will last a year and it will be eventually binned. Classic both tbc and Vanilla classic has far more potential sadly it will be waste.

Move to Firemaw

I had horde and alliance chars on pyrewood, moved them to mirage raceway. There’s definitely more alliance players on pyrewood than on mirage.

Hope this is somewhat informative to you.
