So at what point do the server / realm mergers return? They were last mentioned by Blizzard back in about Feb this year as far as I can tell. Response at the time was “we wanted to get shadowlands out as priority”, well shadowlands is out, where’s the update?
Open world isn’t an issue, sharding basically solves that, but in terms of guild recruitment, AH usage, dead servers are still a problem. There’s low pop servers out there with like 7 mergers and other low pop who don’t even have one. How dead does a group have to get before you consider it, or are we still milking that sweet sweet realm/faction transfer money?
Surely at this point each realm/group of realms needs to be around 40/50k+ players, there’s some that are almost single digits…
Support are here to solve immediate problems people have with the game. Their job doesn’t entail communicating requests to whoever makes such decisions.

The sad truth is that they usually keep silent about the issue until they have something ready to announce.
