Rearranging and Removing Portals

Meteora was my favorite album back then :joy: tbh it’s still great now.

I get what you mean sorta, I just don’t feel like this change is going anywhere near to the Classic Experience. You can still fly compared to a run to booty bay from Darkshire or the run from Iron Forge to SFK.

Un’Goro for Alliance was a nightmare!

Haha yep. I’m digressing from the point but I feel the point of feeling is still valid.

Oh boy, this will be the most massive roasting incident since Real ID…

Dear Blizzard you really need to consider that people have limited time in their day. As they grow up from teens to working adults the time can get more and more limited.

You really should not want to make people with limited time spend even more time doing trifling tasks such as traveling slowly over a continent they know already inside out cause a portal that saved them half a continent’s travel time is gone.

Attempts to stall us for /played time are more likely to end up making more people not play at all.

If you want to make good use of your new portal hub you need to move every portal in existence there and not removing access to any.
If we want to fly the scenic route or to even walk sometimes it should be out decision, not yours.

Please do not give us that “guiding principles” narative, we know that those principles as malleable as fresh model clay.
If WoW had solid guiding principles it would had changed a lot less over the years.

PS: STOP removing things from the game! The game does not have limited space which requires the removal of older content for new content to come.
Each time you remove something the game becomes less good due to that.

I do not have access to those zones unless you make BfA base content or gift me the expansion. As far as my experience tells me given the players I meet in my journeys, I am not the only one in this situation. Players are offered two end-contents (Legion, BfA without freezing experience) and both are paid contents (subscription model). One can be considered as premium service since it is the new content. Still since both require player(s) to pay to access, both player base shall get the support they deserve.

In summary, you are removing a feature that is for base content players without any compensation. Is this fair?

Before answering that think this real life situation. That guy has headphones that have no noise cancellation. You have headphones with noise cancellation. It’s night time and both of your neighbors are losing their stuff. Both of you can choose to ask help from authority. Let’s say authority tells that guy to get noise cancellation headphones so he does not hear them at night. That guy does not earn much and cannot pay for that feature. The authority is just “not caring” or to be clear “finding situation trivial to take action”. Someone can remind the authority to do their duty. I did that; because I am a human being living in society and we have visible and invisible rules. We have rights towards each other to ourselves. It’s the balance of rights and wrongs that shape our life.

So, back to the in-game feature… Is it “ok” to discriminate player bases and remove features that are designed primarily for “non BfA” players without compensation or fair reason?

Thank you if you read all of them… Thank you.

Reaching BRD never knowing the exact place at the begin was a hell

The Caverns of Time will be a pain to get to. It is already annoying that the portals there placed you in front of them, meaning you would still need to travel the long path down into them.

Honestly I would just leave the portals in the portal room in the center of Dalaran.

Why people are so upset about COT portal? It’s not that long of a flight from Uldum
I feel much much unconfortable in losing wyrmrest temple portal. Thank god i’m engineer with wormholes but on other char will be a pain going to northrend.

Doesnt that need revered lower city rep?

This has got to be one of the most tonedeaf replies to feedback I’ve seen in a while. Up there with ‘don’t you guys have phones’, ‘a sense of pride and accomplishment’ and ‘the bags were too expensive and we don’t intend to do anything about it’.

Most, if not all, of BFA’s main features have major design flaws at best and can be objectively considered failed experiments at worst. And still Blizzard thinks they know better and still they ignore feedback and go ahead with their plans.

Dalaran is a flying mage city that has a special room literally designed for portals. They’re not in the way; it’s a dead-end room otherwise. Who does it hurt that those portals are there? Why remove those? If those go shouldn’t the druid portals go too? You mentioned the Cata portals; why do they get to stay? Seems kinda arbitrary. How about the portals in the mage order hall? The garrison portal tower? The mole machine to Gorgrond outside the garrison? The teleport to Ratchet in the Shrine? The horde teleport to Gnomeregan? The teleport from Shatrath to the Caverns of Time? I’m an engineer and I have a lot of teleporters on 4 hour cooldowns; surely those are a major issue as well? If you’re throwing darts at a portal board you might as well do it right and give them all the RNG treatment.

God forbid we have some convenience in an almost 15 year old game. Throw the players you have left after the BFA fiasco a bone instead of annoying them again and again. We keep giving you feedback and you keep ignoring it. And now we have Azerite armor.

I respectfully disagree with your premise because it’s like saying that spacial orientation doesn’t matter when there’s no gravity and then creating something that disregards orientation, so while it’s true it doesn’t really apply to me here on Earth.

We are already familiarised enough and have a pretty solid mental image of how large the world is, that sense of expanse you are aiming for only happens when there’s uncharted content to discover.

Shorter version: That reasoning would make much more sense if you were to remove the portals to Kul’tiras and Zandalar.

Because there is a level requirement for the Uldum portal.

So, you say it would take a PhD to be able to navigate through the existing network of portals. Therefore is a change welcomed by the poor souls unable to find a way out of the labyrinth. This is lovely, almost sounds like some official statement about players being unable to find certain vendors of something.

But the amusing part is when the same individual that claims having issues figuring out what portal leads where is very competent giving advices about the alternate world travel paths that should compensate for this uncalled for nerf of travel.

And I don’t care about you didn’t care about that player’s opinion. You know what put life into old world? Events like Legion invasions. Class campaigns. You know what won’t? increase time on FP or afk flying at max height.

Got really tired of shills and white knights that would defend everything up to the point of making live game into Classic with updated graphics. Classic is coming, hope you lot will be gone for good. Basically- while I played Classic in some less approved environment, I will probably not play the official version because of the sheer disgust generated by the determination used by those wanna be hardcore gamers trying to bend the current version of the game to fit some archaic matrix.

This nerf will generate more unsubs. In a game of already poor quality that came as a slap on the face after Legion. But I guess the world will feel even more alive without them, am I right?

Classic is a different game, with different rules. But that’s another topic. However, is admirable your display of ignorance while defending something that should not be removed in the first place, and proposing alternate solutions to a false problem.

  1. Uldum to CoT is not 1 min; Close to 3, that’s 3 min/ alt pulled out of nowhere and for no reason.
  2. Dalaran crater was used especially by Alliance for Winter Veil boss/ Love in the Air dailies/ Hinterlands anniversary dragon/ various holidays that req you to visit UC.

You don’t want retail spilled into classic, with mog and mounts available to collect on live from there? Very well, guess what, a lot don’t want classic spilled in retail in some curious form of design backtracking. There are some MMO with way more player friendly transport system, and their world feels more alive than in WoW.

This is actually the worst reasoning i’ve seen as a gamer. You want to make the world bigger and slower so that people spend more time in-game even though you said Ion that this wasn’t the case. Now you just proved yourself wrong, stop making the game not fun to play. Listen to your feedback on the forums and stop being such a fun killer. Who makes these decisions for you? Aren’t you the game-director? Seems to me that you are just a string puppet that’s not making any good game decisions.
