Reason for russian AV tactics?

No flame, just genuinely curious: what is the reason for the “russian AV tactic” during AV weekend?
I mean, you can get an average of 300-550 honor within 10 mins with the rush tactic. Doesn’t matter if you win or lose, most of the AVs I’ve lost gave me equal, or sometimes even more honor compared to the winning side.
I also joined some BGs against russians and when I joined and checked the timer, between 30-55 mins have already passed and they gained approx. 300 honor, and the ressources were a bit less then 220 on the non-russian side. Means: not even close to winning soon.

Can someone enlighten me with the reason for that playstyle? Since they had quite some ppl with bad gear I assume not all of them were there for “fun”, doesn’t seem like a very efficient way of farming honor?
I would rather lose 5 AVs in one hour and get 1500honor (worst case) than playing 1 AV and win for 550 honor. But thats just me

Respect to the russians for actually playing the bg for how its designed and not this rush meta that’s come back in TBC, refuse to play AV in this state

Imagine working together and killing the opposite faction, madness isn’t it

LOL

because the Russians get 1000+ honor for a 25-minute victory. when the enemy receives only 60 honor.

understand ? 25 minutes = 1000+ honor (per weekend)

tactics eu - 10 min = 300 honor. 25 minutes 500 honor.

Russian meta - victory of the Alterac valley.

also, dear, you have no idea about the received honor! the honor counter on the winner table is NOT true. the winner table DOES NOT CONSIDER HONOR FOR KILLING AN OPPONENT AND QUEST.
Therefore, being in attack mode for 25 minutes, you get an additional 250-300 honor just for killing an enemy. even summoning quests give honor. that’s why Russians do quests on alterac

Not sure if you read correctly what I wrote, I joined AVs that were going on for around 45 min. Russian team had 300 honor at this point and non-russian team 250 and still alot of resources left.
That is not quite a 25min victory with 1000 honor you describe  might be different from game to game but I actually had alot of games where russians were not even close to what you said.

But as I said, I was just wondering. If other games are faster then I can understand it.

ok, apparently 25 minutes didn’t work out and the guys didn’t want to lose. for me it is not clear what you mean? how can you just take and lose? the game you must win!honor is no longer important.

Play one BG as the Russian Horde.
gather the enemy at your gate, and then slowly and surely divide the alliance into 2 groups and destroy to the bridge with the dwarves. and you will understand how cool pvp is

Don’t worry, thats what we did in Classic  But in TBC my team won’t put up a fight anyway, tried many times but alot of ppl instantly afk out, others are hiding and the remaining 20 run around headlessly. I only queue AV for honor on alts, if I want to pvp I queue some of the other BGs.

what a pity. but see you at alterac
