There’s nothing wrong with solo grinding. Of course, most ‘dungeon solo farms’ are based on exploiting bugs, which should be fixed. Additionally, some mobs in all dungeons should always use stuns, hexes, etc., to at least force players to buy FAPs. So, if it’s clear that a player is really kiting mobs that could kill him with cc and still manages to farm effectively, then I am okay with that. However, exploiting bugs, blocking mobs, resetting them, etc., should be bannable instead of being allowed.
let’s be honest, the game is not “dead” there are still a lot of people active in the game but they made a huge mistake with the ban on gdkp, today we are forced to play in guilds therefore in private spheres, which creates much less public activity, no guild goes raiding every day all day like a gdkp structure could do, which pushes people to play more characters etc. today there is no has no interest in playing a lot of characters the average guilds do 2-3 raids per week classic apart from pvp there is nothing to do apart from raid log this is also why the gdkp keep the game alive apart from the beginnings of phases which are “hyped”, the reason which pushed blizzard to ban the gdkp is the purchase of illegal gold but let’s be honest it’s 2024 today to play competitively we have to invest a lot of gold in consumables and enchant which are very expensive and again I’m not even talking about the boe, no human farm can beat a bot which personally discourages me a lot, the gdkp is an essential element in 2024 of classic which also allows everyone to play with everyone without having a minimum of 99 parse to join a raid as easy as currently. If Blizzard wants to try to revive their game they have to unban the gdkp, I saw a lot of people also complaining that the gdkp was killing the guilds
-this is just one loot mode among others, it is not impossible to play in a guild and do gdkp on your alts alongside
-gdkp is much less restrictive than playing in a guild which is why many people choose only to do gdkp (dad gamer can play whenever they want whether it is morning or afternoon at any time of the day which matches their work and family constraints, etc.)
You are not correct. Banning GDKP was a very good decision. GDKP is the biggest cancer in this game. SoD is dying due to a lack of content:
-
In PvP, there's no real incentive. We need at least 2v2 arenas, rankings, and a proper PvP set. It would be nice to add Eye of the Storm in any form, with well-known rules but different textures (maybe Plaguelands?)
-
In PvE, they should add another shorter 10-man raid with a 3-day lockout. This raid should still offer BiS items from the last 1-2 bosses to encourage people to farm it like Sunken Temple
-
For general farming: they added Wild Offers and Warlock Portals, but these should be reworked. Fel Scars should give currency for purchasing items instead of requiring farming around 500 portals to get a trinkets and epic dagger. Similarly, for Wild Offers: why can't the Mara dagger be purchased for, say, 100 Wild Offers? They could of course add items for other classes as well. It's still much farming, but at least people have hope that they can get it
What is so special about endgame though, that everbody decided to rush leveling in incursions?
IMO best thing about classic is leveling in Azeroth. Had a great time during phase 3, because the zones were actually not overcrowded. Had some good fights with the local gnomes and for the first time during SOD, I actually ran into the same gnomes a few days later.
What is mind boggling tho, is that in phase 4, ppl will once again rush to max level only to find out, there is nothing to do.
PPL advocating EotS should be hanged for treason. Worst BG ever man. Terrible design.
while i agree with you to some extended ,i dont think it should be bannable ,player shouldnt be punish because of devs screw ups , but they’re definetly need to be fix
but in order for them to fix that they going to have to rework almost every dungeon which is really unlikely to happen
The game died because we’ve all played the game to death off and on for 20 years…we’ve done it all before and it’s fun again for a while but gets boring quick!
Time for a new MMO.
I believe many will be back once phase 4 comes out. There is very little to do once you have completed the “new” parts of the content which lets be fair was not a huge amount.
I do think 20 mans was a mistake, but this only personally as we had a solid 10 man guild, but I know many like the larger raids. Also incursions was a terrible addition which rushed the small amount of content which did exist 40-50.
Pservers are doing better. They are proof the game is NOT boring. The devs just have no clue how to handle the game and Blizz is generally very anti-consumer these days. There is a long list of failures that lead to the current situation and it’s not just WoW.
Is it weird people rush? Times and times again Blizz rewards this:
-
You get to exploit early: ex bloods p2, incursion gold p3. Risk free as there is no roll back
-
You get into raids before everyone ask for high parses / in demand classes.
-
You get the best gold farms before they get nerfed
-
You get to lvl your professionsand stock before insane cons / BoE prices explode
-
You get to pvp peacefully before the meta is established and broken classes get fully geared
It’s hard to find a reason not to rush in such an hyper competitive “game”.
Loving SoD and intend to play to the end. Desperate for it to lead to a Classic+ of sorts. Keep the faith, the greater the levels of player engagement, the more likely we are to see more content.
40-50 is a boring part of the game in wow, to then lock it for 2 months is asking for trouble. A raid that has barely any upgrades from the previous phase makes it even less desirable.
blizzard hit the breaks in regards to everything that gives character power in phase 3.
they saw players doing damage that rivals characters decked in MC gear (some even say nax gear but i find that hard to believe) and they went “hold on, we’ve given players way too much power”.
this is why the loot in ST bar a few exceptions is just a bunch of sidegrades.
i’ve found myself passing on the vast majority of drops in there.
pretty much the only attractive stuff is weapons, trinkets and maybe a cloak. once you got your raid 3-tier set bonus and the rank 7 pvp gear, you will struggle to find upgrades even inside ST… even the epic shoulders is a flat sidegrade at least for tanks, because 15 stamina from the 3 set pvp bonus is more valuable if you need mitigation.
I only started playing SoD last week and so far I’m loving it. I like the rune spells and discovery. I really missed the old world and world pvp as well from Wotlk classic.
I always disliked classes in vanilla because of lack of spells but now they are pretty great with the rune system.
Only downside is that when I reached level 40 I started doing Ashenvale inc and I literally gained 1 level every 30-40 min, way too fast.
It wouldn’t be boring if they had spent more effort in providing overhauled content. Mara, ZF, Uldaman. Finish Azshara BG. Don’t force players into playing the STV event, make BGs worthwile. Incursions are a failure, should’ve just been dailies…and so on.
For me it was the overnerfing of ST and lack of class balance changes that has killed it.
100%
nothing further to add
That would take money and effort and modern Blizzard is allergic to that.
Let’s be honest the Blizz boiled frogs will pretty much buy up anything Blizz is selling these days why make the effort when the frog army will just pay you anyway.
Haven’t they been saying SOD is a test for a future version of classic…which will probably be another test for some other version and the milk train just plods along to the next station.
ALL ABOARD.
Capping rank 7, limiting higher dungeon farming (example Orbs), gear in ST being a small upgrade. Incursions being soul destroying.
I think its good people can play other games. Phase 4 will have plenty of content so phase 3 being boring isnt the end of the world.
You and I have a fundamentally different view of what is enjoyable about the game I think.
While I would not say the way you play the game is wrong, everything you mention seems to be aimed at efficiancy/optimalisation and end game. All these things are pretty much meaningless to me. I like to waste 15 minutes looking for Lard’s lunch while some pesky night elf is buggering me.
Had some fun time pvp’ing while leveling. No overcrowded spots in phase 3. Thank you Blizzard for incursions.
Firstly, there are some classes with issues regarding their balance, particularly in terms of their three-shot capabilities. These include Paladins, Starfire Druids, and Shamans.
The Warrior’s “rage” mechanic requires normalization and scaling adjustments to ensure balance across all levels of play.
It’s evident that top-tier classes need adjustments to bring them more in line with bottom-tier ones, as indicated by the data. Additionally, the game world itself requires tuning, particularly with regards to hit points and dungeons, to align with these adjustments.
In terms of raiding, the current mindset of completing all six bosses in less than two hours upon launch is not conducive to an enjoyable experience. There needs to be more challenge and struggle in raid content. Increasing boss damage would necessitate the use of resistance gear and raid utility, providing a more engaging and satisfying experience for players.( ps Not talking about more complex boss mechanics) But what if you would need to Grind Prebiss items in 5 mans ?? what a crazy idea… At the moment, content is being cleared too swiftly, diminishing the sense of achievement and progression.
